Abstract: A topsheet used in a disposable body fluids absorbent garment comprises a plurality of first ribs extending in parallel one to another in one direction and a plurality of second ribs extending in parallel one to another so as to intersect the first ribs. Each pair of adjacent first ribs intersect each pair of adjacent second ribs to define an air- and moisture-permeably opened region around which at least one of the respective pairs of adjacent first ribs and adjacent second ribs have their crests configured so that, between each pair of adjacent intersections of the first and second ribs each of the crests underlies an imaginary straight line connecting this pair of adjacent intersections.

Abstract: To prevent body fluids from flowing backward through a liquid-permeable topsheet for use in body fluids absorptive goods, the topsheet is formed by a nonwoven fabric made of thermoplastic synthetic fibers appropriately fused together and the topsheet is provided with openings and a skin-contacting region continuously extending around the openings. A first zone of the topsheet has a water-resistance at least in the skin-contacting region which is higher than a water-resistance in a second zone extending outside the first zone so as to suppress a back flow of body fluids possibly occurring in the skin-contacting region.

Abstract: The liquid-permeable composite nonwoven fabric for use in the body fluids absorptive articles such as sanitary napkins comprises a liquid-permeable nonwoven fabric made from thermoplastic synthetic fibres and a plurality of continuous filaments made from thermoplastic synthetic resin being arranged parallel to one another and bonded to an upper surface of the nonwoven fabric at bonding zones arranged intermittently along and longitudinally of the respective filaments so that each filament may form bulges describing circular arcs above the nonwoven fabric.

Abstract: A topsheet of body fluid absorptive articles comprising a first sheet made of thermoplastic synthetic resin sheet and having liquid passages each downwardly extending therethrough and a second sheet containing 70 to 100% by weight of cellulose fibres bonded to said first sheet around lower openings of the respective liquid passages and comprises mechanically intertwined fibres only. The second sheet has a density higher than a density of fibres contained in the liquid-absorbent core.
