  • Patent number: 10538732
Abstract: A cell isolation method includes: a cell trapping step of allowing a test liquid to pass through a cell trapping filter which has a plurality of through-holes in the thickness direction, thereby trapping isolation target cells contained in the test liquid on one surface of the cell trapping filter; a gel embedding step of introducing a stimulus-responsive hydrogel onto the one surface of the cell trapping filter on which the cells have been trapped in the cell trapping step, thereby embedding the cells in the stimulus-responsive hydrogel; a gel hardening step of applying a stimulus to the stimulus-responsive hydrogel in which the cells are embedded, thereby hardening the stimulus-responsive hydrogel; and a detachment step of detaching the stimulus-responsive hydrogel that was hardened in the gel hardening step from the cell trapping filter.

  • Patent number: 10258906
Abstract: A metal filter includes a plurality of through holes. An opening shape of each of the plurality of through holes is a rectangle or rounded-rectangle and a length of a short side of the rectangle or a rounded rectangle is 5 to 15 ?m. A method for concentrating cancer cells using the metal filter includes separating cancer cells from blood and blood cell constituents by passing blood, red blood cells, white blood cells, and platelets through the plurality of through holes while capturing cancer cells to concentrate the cancer cells.

  • Patent number: 10246684
Abstract: Provided are a cancer cell-trapping metal filter which has a high opening ratio, a cancer cell-trapping metal filter sheet, a cancer cell-trapping device using the cancer cell-trapping filter, and manufacturing methods therefor. According to a cancer cell-trapping metal filter 1, openings of connected through-holes 12 that are formed in a metal sheet 11 have a wave shape, and thus it is possible to extract a CTC from other components by utilizing a hole diameter on a short-side side of the openings, and it is possible to make the connected through-holes be closer to each other due to the wave shape while maintaining a CTC trapping ability. Accordingly, it is possible to further improve the opening ratio in the cancer cell-trapping metal filter 1.

  • Publication number: 20170037358
Abstract: A cancer cell isolation method isolates cancer cells trapped on a filter without any damage. In a cancer cell isolation device, cancer cells X trapped on a filter are captured by a camera as an image capturing unit, and the cancer cells X are carried one by one by using a handling unit while the filter and a storage container are moved by an X-axis movement stand, a Y-axis movement stand, and a Z-axis movement stand as movement units while the captured image is output from an output unit. Accordingly, it is possible to isolate the cancer cells on the filter without damaging the cancer cells and hence to appropriately perform an observation or the like.
