    Abstract: An electronic apparatus including a personal computer and a facsimile which are compatible with a general personal computer is provided. The apparatus includes a group of ports and a common memory which are provided between the personal computer and the facsimile and are used to transmit and receive various data. An interruption signal generator generates an interruption signal to the reception side of the apparatus when data is supplied between the personal computer and the facsimile through the ports. An interruption processing program which is started when the interruption signal is received is provided in a main memory of a central processing unit of each of the personal computer and the facsimile. With the present apparatus, various software products for general personal computers can be used without any change, while the facsimile function to transmit and receive image data via a line can be effectively used.
