  • Publication number: 20080192358
Abstract: A display device for a vehicle is provided, by which an attaching position thereof can be altered depending upon an attachment limiting condition of the vehicle. The display device includes: a display source provided in an instrument panel of the vehicle; and a prism provided on a light path between the display source and an aperture of the instrument panel and refracting display light of an image displayed on the display source backward in the vehicle, wherein the prism is formed in a shape inclined upward in a backward direction of the vehicle, wherein (a) a virtual image of the image projected on a projection area of a windshield of the vehicle, onto which area the display image from the prism is projected and (b) a front view of the vehicle to be seen from an eye point of the vehicle through the windshield are seen in a superimposed manner.

  • Publication number: 20080129539
Abstract: A vehicle surrounding monitoring system includes an image-capturing portion, a storage portion, a display-image generation portion, and a display portion. The image-capturing portion captures the image of at least a portion of the area surrounding the vehicle. The storage portion stores the image captured by the image-capturing portion. The display-image generation portion generates a synthesized image for display using a latest image that is captured by the image-capturing portion, and a previous image that is captured before the latest image is captured. The synthesized image is displayed on the display portion. The display-image generation portion decreases the level of visibility of an image region relating to the previous image, according to an elapsed time after the previous image is captured.

  • Publication number: 20060241818
Abstract: In an in-vehicle display device which carried on an automotive vehicle and displays an operation guide of a steering switch, a contact detection unit detects contact of an object with the steering switch. A grasping state detection unit detects whether a vehicle operator is grasping a steering wheel in a predetermined grasping state. A display unit displays the operation guide of the steering switch on a display ahead of the vehicle operator when contact of an object with the steering switches is detected by the contact detection unit and it is detected by the grasping state detection unit that the vehicle operator is grasping the steering wheel in the predetermined grasping state.

  • Publication number: 20060170660
Abstract: A touch input device for use with a display that shows a plurality of items. The touch input device is operated by a user to select an item shown on the display. The touch input device includes a sensor having an operation plane for touching by the user with a finger. The sensor generates a sensor signal indicating contact area of the finger with the operation plane. The operation plane is pressed by the finger when the user selects an item from the display. When an increase rate of the finger contact area over a predetermined time period becomes greater than an increase rate threshold, the touch input device determines that the operation plane of the sensor has been pressed by the user to select an item.

  • Publication number: 20060031826
Abstract: The present invention is directed to an information terminal device. A memory card 14 stores a serial number MID of the memory card 14 and a MID register program for registering the serial number MID in the information terminal device 10. At starting the information terminal device 10, the MID register program is downloaded from the installed memory card 14 and the serial number MID stored in the memory card 14 is stored in a non-volatile flash ROM 30 in accordance with the program. Then, the MID register program is cleared out of the memory card 14 and the MID register program on a SDRAM 32 downloaded to the information terminal device 10 is made invalid. Such processing prevents the serial number of the memory card 14 from being thereafter stored in the other information terminal device 10.

  • Publication number: 20060022896
Abstract: An object of the present invention is to provide a head-up display apparatus and a cover-mirror unit used for the same. A movable member 3? of the cover-mirror unit stands up along a flat inner wall 1a1 of a housing 1a when the head-up display apparatus is in use, and lie down to cover an opening of the housing 1a when the head-up display apparatus is not in use for carrying out an up/down operation. In particular, through the down operation, by a link mechanism, a bottom end of the movable member is gradually moved upward by following the inner wall 1a1 of the housing 1a. Therefore, though the movable member 3? stands up along the inner wall 1a1 of the housing 1a when the head-up display apparatus is in use, the movable member 3? never interferes with the inner wall 1a1 through the up/down operation.
