  • Publication number: 20100053888
Abstract: In a grip device of the present invention, shielding members are placed in the openings of a handle in which arm members are to be arranged, respectively. This can make it difficult for a foreign matter to enter the handle via the openings. The presence of the shielding members can prevent a foreign matter from being caught between the handle and each of the arm members when the handle is moved from the extended position to the retracted position, resulting in a smooth movement of the handle.

  • Publication number: 20100045431
Abstract: The present invention relates to an information processing unit including a fingerprint sensor, and it includes further a handle that can be gripped by a user and supporting members that are fixed to protrude from a side face of a first case of the unit and that supports the handle. The fingerprint sensor is disposed on one of the supporting members. According to this configuration, the fingerprint sensor can be disposed at a position to reduce the possibility that a finger, a hand or the like of the user comes into accidental contact with the fingerprint sensor, thereby preventing operation errors and sensitivity degradation of the fingerprint sensor and also preventing any discomfort for the user during an operation of a keyboard and the like.

  • Publication number: 20100046166
Abstract: Since an information processing unit of the present invention includes a protrusion portion on a back face side of a first casing, it is possible to reduce an impact transmitted to a notebook PC when the notebook PC is placed in an upright position on the surface of a desk. Therefore, it is possible to prevent the notebook PC from being damaged. Furthermore, since the protrusion portion is provided to the back face side of the first casing, it is possible not to allow the notebook PC to stand self-supported in an upright position. Therefore, the notebook PC will not be placed carelessly in an upright position on the surface of a desk or the like; thus, it is possible to prevent the PC from being broken or damaged due to a fall.

  • Publication number: 20100046159
Abstract: In the cover opening and dosing device of the present invention, among clearances between a cover and a first cabinet, a clearance 12a closest to protrusions on the first cabinet is made to have a larger width than other clearances. Thus, even when the protrusions are accidentally bumped against the wall or the like and the first cabinet in the vicinity of the protrusions is locally deformed, it is possible to absorb the deformation. Therefore, it is possible to reduce the possibility of the development of trouble in opening and dosing the cover.

  • Publication number: 20100046154
Abstract: An information processing unit of the present invention includes: a housing that incorporates an information processor; a handle arranged on one side surface of the housing; and support members that are arranged on the one side surface of the housing to protrude and support the handle. The support members respectively are arranged continuously from the one side surface to a pair of other side surfaces adjacent to the one side surface in a direction in which the handle is bridged. Each of the support members has a bent portion between the one side surface and each of the other side surfaces. Thus, a stress applied between the first housing and a handle mechanism when, for example, a user carries a notebook PC holding a handle can be dispersed, so that the handle can be fixed to the first housing with improved strength.

  • Publication number: 20100046158
Abstract: A drainage structure of the present invention includes a drainage groove, a drain, and a groove portion. Thus, even in the case where a user accidentally spills a liquid such as water on an upper face of a first housing, intrusion of the liquid into a disk drive can be prevented, and damage to the disk drive can be prevented. Moreover, the drain is connected to the groove portion. Thus, a liquid that drains from the drain can be collected in the groove portion. Accordingly, the liquid can be prevented from spreading over a wide area, and adhesion of the liquid to various types of electric components disposed in a back face of the first housing can be prevented.

  • Publication number: 20100046155
Abstract: An information processing unit of the present invention includes hollow portions on a first casing side and protrusion portions on a second casing side, and the portions on both sides can be fitted. Accordingly, even when a notebook PC accidentally is dropped on the ground or the like, it is possible to reduce changes in the relative position of the second casing with respect to the first casing, which reduces a load applied to a hinge portion. Therefore, it is possible to prevent the hinge portion from being broken.

  • Publication number: 20090059493
Abstract: An information processing apparatus of the present invention includes an upper casing 11, a lower casing 12 coupled to the upper casing 11 and forming a space for housing at least an electrical element, and a keyboard 3 disposed on the upper casing 11. The lower casing 12 includes a wall portion 13d arranged to stand from the inner bottom 12d, and a supporting face 13a formed integrally with the wall portion 13d from the wall portion 13d in a direction substantially parallel to the inner bottom 12d. The supporting face 13a is disposed at a position where the rear side of the operational side of the keyboard 13 can be supported. With such a configuration, key touch feeling of the keyboard can be prevented from declining, and an excellently robust information processing apparatus can be achieved.

  • Publication number: 20080158712
Abstract: A buffer member and impact absorbing device can buffer various impacts, namely from an extremely strong impact such as drop to a weak impact or repetitive vibration such as daily operation. The buffer member is formed of a soft flexible part that deforms compressively, has cushion performance, and has a substantially rectangular parallelepiped shape, and a sheet-like substrate part that has flexibility, is made of resin material, and has a substantially rectangular shape. A slit is formed by substantially vertically slotting the flexible part from its one surface to a midway so as to leave a surplus material part, and the substrate part is inserted and mounted to the slit formed in the flexible part. A relatively weak impact force is absorbed by the surplus material part of the flexible part, and a strong impact force that has not been completely absorbed by the surplus material part is absorbed by interaction between the flexible part and the substrate part.
