  • Patent number: 8045003
Abstract: A display screen of an onboard display device is disposed so that a speedometer is displayed in front of a driver of a vehicle. When a right-turn instruction is detected, a blinker is displayed and a rightward rear view image outside the vehicle is displayed on the right side of the display screen. When a left-turn instruction is detected, a blinker is displayed and a leftward rear view image outside the vehicle is displayed on the left side of the display screen. Displaying the image in different positions of the display screen according to the right or the left turn instruction facilitates an intuitive determination of a meaning of the image and makes it easier to drive the vehicle.

  • Publication number: 20040267759
Abstract: A multimedia information provision system, including a first server, a second server and a user terminal connected to one another via an information communication network, for providing, to the user terminal, multimedia information associated with page information input to the user terminal. The user terminal includes a reading section for reading page information from a page. The first server includes a first database storing page information addresses associated with page information, and a retrieval section for retrieving, from the first database, a page information address associated with the page information that has been read by the reading section and transmitted from the user terminal.

  • Patent number: 6239788
Abstract: In a coordinate detection period, a first electrode drive circuit sequentially selects source electrodes Sn of the TFT LCD panel to connect the same to an x-signal current amplifying circuit, and to apply an AC voltage to the non-selected electrodes. The x-signal current amplifying circuit detects a detection current flowing through the selected electrode, the magnitude of which corresponds to a distance to a finger (or a conductor pen), to obtain an x-coordinate detection voltage. A second electrode drive circuit and a y-signal current amplifying circuit operate in similar fashion to obtain a y-coordinate detection voltage. A coordinate detection circuit then obtains the x- and y-coordinate values of the designated position based on the x-coordinate detection voltage and the y-coordinate detection voltage, thus enabling pointing by a codeless pen and a finger.

  • Patent number: 5966112
Abstract: An integrated image-input type display unit employs a conventional liquid crystal display panel and is capable of optically writing an original image directly at a high resolution into liquid crystal display panel and electrically reading the image. This unit has an image input/output device comprising a liquid crystal cell which contains light-sensitive molecules. The light-sensitive molecules are capable of changing their structure to a first molecular structure when being irradiated with light of a first wavelength range and to a second molecular structure when being irradiated with light of a second wavelength range, and are further capable of changing their alignment in accordance with the structural change of the light-sensitive molecules.

  • Patent number: 5905489
Abstract: An M-sequence signal is generated in an M-sequence generation circuit, and the M-sequence signal, which is successively delayed by a column-electrode driving circuit or a row-electrode driving circuit, is applied to a column-electrode group or a row-electrode group. A correlator finds a correlation between the M-sequence signal and a detection signal that has been detected by amplifying electrostatically induced voltage that appeared in the detection electrode of an electronic pen so that a position specified by the electronic pen is detected by a detection circuit as a coordinate signal. Thus, it is possible to obtain a coordinate detection signal having a superior S/N ratio without reducing the coordinate detection speed, and consequently to carry out a coordinate detecting operation with high precision.

  • Patent number: 5738429
Abstract: The present projection display apparatus includes an illumination source, an LCD panel including a polarizing plate, a light projecting and receiving combinational lens, a screen, a light pen, a detection-use polarizing plate, a CCD, and a control circuit for controlling an operation of the LCD panel upon receiving a signal from the CCD. The combinational lens throws light of a display image from the LCD panel to project the light on the screen. Meanwhile, the lens receives light from the display image and luminescent spot light from the pen to focus them on the LCD panel and then reflect the same to make them incident on the CCD via the detection-use polarizing plate. The detection-use polarizing plate does not transmit the light of the display image.

  • Patent number: 5491706
Abstract: An induction voltage signal induced at a detection electrode of a detection pen is binarized by a slice voltage "e.sub.s ". The number of pulses existing in the binary signal is counted by a counting device. The resulting count value obtained by the counting device and the number of times of electrode scanning in an x-coordinate detection period or a y-coordinate detection period are compared with each other by means of a comparator. When the number of pulses is greater, an error detection alarm signal is output by an alarm device. Thus the existence of the pulses based on the error detection signal is detected in the binary signal based on the induction voltage signal from the detection electrode to output the error detection alarm signal. The above arrangement allows the coordinates at the tip end of the detection pen to be detected in a stable and correct manner even when external noise is detected.

  • Patent number: 5331333
Abstract: A display apparatus in which light outputted from an LED array arranged in a column is reflected by a vibrating mirror such that a two-dimensional image is obtained, comprising: a half mirror which reflects light having a wavelength identical with a light emitting wavelength of the LED array and transmits therethrough visible light having other wavelengths than the light emitting wavelength; the half mirror being so disposed as to not only transmit therethrough the visible light from outside but also reflect the light proceeding from the LED array via the vibrating mirror such that the two-dimensional image has an outer scene as its background.
