    Abstract: Engine cooling structure directs cooling air, introduced into a case by operation of a fan, to a cylinder block of an engine and then discharges the cooling air out of the case through an outlet port along meandering flow passages. Case cooling structure directs cooling along the inner surface of the case. Further cooling flow passage directs the air to vertically-oriented heat radiating fins so that the cooling air flows upward along the fins and then is discharged through the outlet port. Metal cooling-fan cover is supported by the lower cover via mounting members, and a resin-made cover guide is fastened to the engine together with supporting portions and interposed between the fan cover and the engine.

This enables mist contained in cooling air taken into the box to be separated and removed effectively before the cooling air reaches the surroundings of the engine/generator unit.

A resistance for limiting rush current caused by switching of a power switch between a rectifier diode bridge and a smoothing condenser. A triode AC switch and the relay are provided in parallel with the resistance. The on-operation of a power switch is monitored by the input monitoring circuit, and an triode AC switch is turned on at the zero crossing point of input signals after the on-operation by the zero crossing circuit to short-circuit the resistance. After a delay of the relay due to sensitive time, the relay is turned on by a relay driving circuit, and the triode AC switch is turned on.

    Abstract: A power-assisted wheelbarrow applies an assisting function using an electric motor. Handle shafts connecting to the rear end portions of two handles are covered with grips which are allowed to move axially relative to the handle shafts. More than one steel balls are fitted between the handle shafts and the grips. At the sides of the grips or the handles, pushing force detecting sensors are disposed for detecting the axial movements of the grips relative to the handle shafts in accordance with the pushing forces applied to the grips. The operation of the electric motor is controlled on the basis of the detected values of the two pushing force detecting sensors. As a result, the assisting force by the electric motor can be effectively applied to the wheel of a manual-push type single-wheeled carrier so that manual labor can be reduced while minimizing the consumption of a battery.
