  • Patent number: 8867746
Abstract: A method for protecting a control device against manipulation in which a number of set of keys for decoding cryptographic functions is provided, a key switch being additionally provided, via which the cryptographic functions access sets of keys.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: November 26, 2007
Date of Patent: October 21, 2014
    Assignee: Robert Bosch GmbH
Inventors: Holger Ceskutti, Klaus Schneider, Ioannis Liakos
  • Patent number: 8060873
Abstract: A method for remote programming of a program-controlled device, and a system having an interface to receive program data and a legitimization, as well as a remotely programmable, program-controlled device, which includes a processor and a program memory, are provided. In the method, program data are remotely transmitted from a control station to the interface and buffer-stored there in a buffer store. Subsequently, a legitimization is transmitted from the control station to the interface, and from there to the program-controlled device. The device checks the legitimization and imports the program data from the buffer store if the legitimization check is positive.

  • Publication number: 20110099401
Abstract: A microcontroller system includes a microcontroller, which is able to be switched over between a state having high power consumption and a state having restricted power consumption, a status register, a timer and a first logic assembly that is connected to the timer and the status register, and, in response to receiving a time-out signal from the timer, causes a transition of the microcontroller from the state of restricted power consumption to the state of high power consumption, if the content of the status register has a first specified value.

  • Publication number: 20080181407
Abstract: A method for protecting a control device against manipulation in which a number of key sentences for decoding cryptographic functions is provided, a key switch being additionally provided, via which the cryptographic functions access key sentences.

  • Publication number: 20070162532
Abstract: In a method for generating at least one random number for a system, at least one pseudo-random input value is used which is generated while taking into consideration of a boundary condition.

  • Publication number: 20070061024
Abstract: A device and a method for programming a controller by transferring software using a copy-protected plug-in memory unit. Software, controller software in particular, is stored encrypted in the copy-protected plug-in memory unit. Software may be transferred from a central device to a controller of a vehicle in a particularly simple manner using the portable copy-protected plug-in memory unit. Due to the simple handling of the copy-protected plug-in memory unit, a controller may be reprogrammed even by a layman.

  • Publication number: 20060150255
Abstract: A microcontroller system encompasses a processor unit, a source for confidential data, and a bus that connects the processor unit and source. Integrated on one single substrate together with the source is an access control unit that decides, on the basis of signals transferred on the bus, whether an output of confidential data from the source is permitted or blocked.

  • Publication number: 20060107133
Abstract: A tampering-protected microprocessor system includes a microprocessor, an internal write/read memory integrated with the microprocessor into a common module, and a second memory in which at least a portion of an operating program to be executed by the microprocessor is stored. At least one procedure of the operating program which is indispensable for the function of the microprocessor system is stored in encrypted form in the external memory. The operating program includes a decryption procedure which decrypts each encrypted procedure of the operating program and stores it in the internal write/read memory. The indispensable procedure, in order to function properly, requires a successful execution of an integrity test procedure which tests the integrity of at least a portion of the operating program.
