  • Publication number: 20090212905
Abstract: The invention relates to a wireless remote control system (100) for vehicle functions (13.1, 13.2), having a portable remote control unit (20) which comprises operator control elements for activating control signals which are exchanged with a vehicle mounted transmitter/receiver unit (11) in order to control the vehicle functions (13.1, 13.2). According to the invention, the remote control unit (20) comprises the following components: at least one first operator control element which has a predefined function of an electronic driving authorization and/or access authorization system (13.2) assigned to it, and at least one second operator control element and at least one display unit for menu prompted control of at least one ride level control system (13.1).

  • Patent number: 7109854
Abstract: The invention relates to a system for preventing collisions of an automobile with obstacles. Sensors mounted in the automobile detect the area surrounding the vehicle. The signals of said sensors are evaluated by a data processing device in order to calculate the available obstacle-free driving space. Other sensors additionally detect the position of all movable vehicle parts (e.g. a trailer) and the dynamic parameters of the current driving situation (e.g. speed, steering angle, etc.). Based on said data, the driving speed required during the following time intervals in order to continue driving is calculated in advance by the data processing device and compared with the actually available obstacle-free driving space that has been detected. Said comparison provides early forecast regarding a possible collision. The driver is warned of a possible collision danger by corresponding warning devices and can consequently react in time. In critical situations (e.g.

  • Patent number: 6923080
Abstract: A monitoring apparatus having an obstacle-detecting system comprises a plurality of detecting devices fastened on the object, an evaluation unit and an optical display device. For the purpose of displaying the surrounding situation more effectively, the fields of view of two neighbouring detecting devices intersect, the individual images of these detecting devices are combined to form an overall image, and the object can be projected on the display device into the overall image and can be displayed as part of the overall image.

  • Publication number: 20050107925
Abstract: In a method for outputting data relating to user selectable information regarding a motor vehicle, a plurality of user selectable options relating to the information are represented, and data relating to the selected option is output. At least one context-dependent profile is defined, and a set of options determined by the profile is generated. Data are output as a function of the profiles and options.
