  • Patent number: 9783301
Abstract: A handling system for handling objects in a vehicle comprises a storage apparatus that is positionable outside a vehicle cabin, an access device that is positionable in a vehicle cabin, and a transport device for transporting objects between the storage apparatus and the access device. The storage apparatus comprises a storage space and a connection station that is connectable to the transport device, wherein the storage apparatus comprises at least one drive device for moving carriers on which objects to be stored are held. The handling system comprises at least one guiding device that with the drive device guides the carriers on at least one circular path within the storage space. The storage space thus comprises a vertical flat shape that results in a significantly smaller reduction in the available cargo volume in a vehicle, while at the same time maximizing the design space available for passenger seats.

  • Patent number: 8517303
Abstract: The invention relates to a powered wheel system for an aircraft, comprising at least one undercarriage with several rotatably held wheels, with the powered wheel system comprising two or more motors of which in each case at least one motor is coupled to at least one of the wheels, and comprising at least one control device that is coupled to the motors. A control device is equipped to control operation of the motors independently of each other as far as their respective rotary speeds and direction of rotation are concerned, so that the system is able, among other things, to effect taxiing; by means of rotary speed differentials on different motors to be able to steer the aircraft; prior to landing to bring the wheel circumference speeds to landing speed; and to boost the undercarriage brakes of the aircraft. Furthermore, by means of an improvement of the system according to the invention, the rotary speeds of the wheels may be determined with precision.

  • Publication number: 20120055183
Abstract: A system for cooling a space in a vehicle comprises a sorption wheel, at least one heat exchanger, at least a first humidifier unit and at least one fuel cell, wherein the sorption wheel is adapted for drying ambient air and for conveying dried process air to the downstream heat exchanger and the heat exchanger is adapted for cooling process air, with the heat exchanger being connected to the first humidifier unit for humidifying cooled process air, and wherein the fuel cell is connected to the sorption wheel and adapted for making available fuel cell exhaust air for regenerating the sorption wheel and water to be introduced into the first humidifier unit.

  • Patent number: 4765568
Abstract: A fly-by-wire control system for the elevator assemblies of an aircraft is quipped with a mechanical auxiliary control (8) and with a synchronizing coupling (10). The electrical control links connecting the controlling computers to the elevator drives are each equipped with an override mechanism (4,2). A mechanical cable link (9) of the auxiliary mechanical control (8) connects a pilot operated mechanical control member such as a pitch control wheel having a detent to the respective override mechanism. This combination makes sure that the pilot initiated control signals have performance priority over any other signals at all times. The synchronizing coupling (10) is arranged between the mechanical control links leading to the respective elevator flap drives to assure a symmetric flap deflection on both sides at high speed flight under failure conditions. Centering springs (12) assure a centered position of the flap if the respective flap side signal transmission linkage (4.

  • Patent number: 4437631
Abstract: A leading edge slat of an aircraft wing is connected to the ends of two rods each of them being linked to a crank arm which, in turn, is swung over a particular angular range by means of a planetary gear being driven by a common shaft. Arcuate guide rails on the slat run in rolls which are journalled on the wing case.
