  • Publication number: 20050029704
Abstract: A method for manufacturing a bag for use in vacuum packaging comprises forming a first panel having an indicia for communicating informafion to a user and a second panel. Each panel comprises a gas-impermeable base layer and a heat-sealable inner layer molded from melt-extruded resin. Optionally, the method further comprises forming a colored indicia such that the indicia is more visible to a user. The first panel is overlapped with the second panel, and three of four edges of the panels are heated such that the inner layers bond at the heated edges. This description is not intended to be a complete description of, or limit the scope of, the invention. Other features, aspects, and objects of the invention can be obtained from a review of the specification, the figures, and the claims.

  • Publication number: 20050022472
Abstract: Resealable vacuum packaging bags and methods of manufacturing and using the bags are disclosed herein. In one embodiment, a bag includes a first panel and a second panel coupled to the first panel. The first and second panels each have a gas impermeable layer and a heat sealable layer. The bag further includes a first mating member projecting from the first panel and a second mating member projecting from the first or second panel. The second mating member is configured to selectively engage the first mating member to substantially seal the bag. In another embodiment, a method of using a resealable vacuum packaging bag includes opening a thermally sealed vacuum packaging bag and engaging a first complementary member on a first panel of the bag with a second complementary member on a second panel of the bag to substantially seal the vacuum packaging bag after opening the vacuum packaging bag.

  • Publication number: 20040256050
Abstract: A method for making a vacuum packaging film includes flowing a plastic melt, from a multi-layer extruder, onto a rotating roller. The plastic melt is then cooled while simultaneously imparting a pattern, via a pattern imparting means, onto the plastic melt resulting in the vacuum packaging film.

  • Patent number: 6210662
Abstract: Disclosed are therapeutic compositions and methods for inducing cytotoxic T cell responses in vitro and in vivo. The therapeutic compositions consist of antigen presenting cells activated by contact with a polypeptide complex constructed by joining together a dendritic cell-binding protein and a polypeptide antigen. Also disclosed are expression vectors and systems for producing the polypeptide complexes.
