    Abstract: A fluid control device has a body, actuator, and slam-shut device. The body defines an inlet, an outlet, and a plurality of slam-shut openings, and a seat is positioned along a flow path between the inlet and outlet. The actuator is configured to modulate a position of a first control element relative to a first side of the seat along an actuation axis to control a fluid pressure. The slam-shut device has a second control element that is movable along the actuation axis and is biased toward a second side of the seat and a slam-shut actuator configured to trigger the second control element to move to the closed position in which the second control element contacts the second side of the seat. The slam-shut actuator includes a shaft and the slam-shut actuator and shaft are positionable in any one of the plurality of slam-shut openings in different configurations.

The lower casing of the actuator assembly includes a wall defining a portion of a balancing cavity that receives the balancing system and an inner surface that ends at a shoulder and has an annular groove formed therein that receives a portion of the diaphragm as the fluid regulator moves from a fully open position to a lockup position.

    Abstract: A fluid regulator includes a valve block having an inlet arranged for connection to a gas supply and an outlet arranged for connection to an item of gas equipment and defining a flow path. The valve block may include one or more of a pressure regulator, a metering valve, and an on-off switch disposed in the flow path. A rotatable pinion operatively is coupled to the metering valve, and a hand control is coupled to the valve block and rotatable about an axis and includes a toothed rack movable with the hand control. A spring biases the toothed rack toward pinion to provide improved precision and/or less play between internal components. The fluid regulator they also include a balanced gear assembly for rotating a control rod of the valve, and further may be adapted to provide various visual indicators of the on-off the state of the device.
