  • Patent number: 11838480
Abstract: A method for reducing image burn-in artifacts in an electrophotographic printing system, includes receiving a print job including image data for a set of pages to be printed. The pages are analyzed to determine that the image data for a sequence of pages in the print job are similar. The similar pages are printed using a pattern of lateral translations wherein the image data is laterally translated such that it is printed at a different lateral position on the printed page. The similar pages can also be printed using a pattern of page orientations including a first page orientation and a second page orientation, wherein the image data for the second page orientation is rotated 180 degrees relative to the image data for the first page orientation.

  • Patent number: 11602939
Abstract: A printing system for printing on sheets of media having a non-uniform thickness profile. A user interface is controlled to instruct the operator to load a media tray with a stack of media having a specified pattern of media orientations. A media transport system picks sequential sheets of media from the media tray. A front end supplies sequential image data having orientations in accordance with the specified pattern of media orientations. A printing module sequentially prints the supplied image data on the sheets of media in accordance with the specified pattern of media orientations.

  • Publication number: 20150279008
Abstract: A method for processing an input image to reduce halo artifacts in an electrophotographic printing system. The input image is automatically analyzed to determine an edge map image indicating light-side edge regions that include edge pixels that are adjacent to edge transitions in the input image and are on a lighter side of the edge transition. At least one edge region dilation operation to the edge map image to expand the light-side edge regions in a direction away from the edge transitions. A corrected image is formed by modifying the input pixels of the input image corresponding to the expanded light-side edge regions to determine corrected pixels having corrected pixel values. The corrected image is then printed using the electrophotographic printing system.

  • Patent number: 6101321
Abstract: A method and an apparatus for interprocessor communication in which each processor simultaneously outputs a local data subset of a data set and simultaneously receives foreign data subsets of the data set in both directions around a ring of processors. A destination data memory buffer the size of the entire data set is accessed for transmission and reception and uses four data pointers, two input and two output, whose positions in the memory buffer correspond to the data subsets passing into and out of the processor in each direction at that moment and which correspond to a direction of output or input. The processors pass the subsets one-half of the way around the ring in each direction. Each processor knows whether a data subset should be passed on to neighboring processors. Received each foreign data subset received is stored in the data memory buffer in the correct position as designated by the appropriate input data pointer.
