    Abstract: The device (1) for replacing toothed belt pulleys (61) on motor vehicle engines (65) includes a pull-off disk (2), which is provided with at least two tie rods (7, 8, 9, 10). To pull off the toothed belt pulley (61), the tie rods (7, 8, 9, 10) can be engaged with at least two openings (57, 58, 59, 60) of the toothed belt pulley (61) in an axially firmly seated manner. The pull-off disk (2) is provided with a central threaded hole, into which a spindle drive, by which the toothed belt pulley (61) can be pulled off from its seating via of the pull-off disk (2) engaging the toothed belt pulley (61), can be inserted. To simplify handling as much as possible, a wrench can be attached to the fastening screw connection (66) of the toothed belt pulley (61) through the threaded hole.

    Abstract: A device (1) for emptying closed containers which are under pressure, especially fuel filters, which can be detachably fastened to the container, firmly seated thereon, and which has a drain channel with a drain opening, in which a drill (12) which can be actuated via a spindle drive (9) is arranged for drilling through the container wall (54). To break a vacuum generated during the emptying, a vent hole is created by a piercing spike (7) in the container wall (54) on the side opposite the drill (12). The piercing spike (7) is part of the entire device (1) and is used together with the drill (12) as a holding element for clampingly receiving the container during the drilling of the container by the drill (12).

    Abstract: A spring vice (56) for tensioning coil springs, which have a spindle drive (59, 61), which has approximately wedge-shaped radial fingers (64, 65, 66) at one of its ends and a support cylinder (60) with a contact element at its other end. Two pressure plates (57, 58) with a passage opening (77, 87), through which the spindle drive (59, 61) can be passed, are used to tension a coil spring. In the mounted state, the radial fingers (64, 65, 66) of the spindle drive (59, 61) can be brought into a nonrotatable pulling connection with locking recesses (81, 82, 83) of the first pressure plate (57), while the second pressure plate (58) without locking recesses is supported axially at the contact element of the support cylinder (60) of the spindle drive (59, 61) for tensioning the coil spring. To increase the safety of operation, provisions are made for the contact element of the support cylinder to have support fingers (72, 73, 74), whose number corresponds to the number of the radial fingers (64, 65, 66).

    Abstract: The present invention pertains to a lifting bridge for removing and installing motor vehicle components, with at least one support rail on which at least one hoisting gear is arranged, and which has support feet at both ends. The support feet of the support rail can be supported at the top edges of an opened engine compartment of a motor vehicle, wherein the hoisting gear has a flexible pulling element. To make it also possible to use such a lifting bridge for motor vehicle engines with unfavorable arrangement of their lifting straps in space, a support plate extending essentially in a horizontal plane is provided for lifting the motor vehicle parts, and the support plate has at least one coupling element with which the support plate is detachably fastened to the pulling element wherein one or more connection elements which can be fastened at different points of the support plate are provided on the support plate for attaching the motor vehicle parts.

    Abstract: A spring tightener includes a central tube assembly which includes a cylindrical guide tube having a lower end with a seat bushing having an axial thrust bearing in which a flange ring at the lower end of a threaded spindle is positioned for securing and rotatably supporting the spindle. A coupling tube is telescopically movable in the guide tube and the device includes a cam engageable with a slot of an adjacent tube for the positive locking guidance of these tubes. A threaded tube is connected to the outer end of the coupling tube and it is internally threaded and in threaded engagement with a spindle which is journalled in the seat bushing of the guide tube. A first pressure plate is provided with recesses which engage against outwardly extending radial fingers of the threaded tube and a second pressure plate is mounted over the cylindrical guide tube and bears against a bearing surface at the lower end of the guide tube.

The support frame is provided with two lifting devices (10), which are guided individually displaceably on the support frame (8, 18) and each has a lifting member (12), which can be raised and lowered by a rotating actuation and can be stopped in its position by automatic interlocking. The support frame (1) consists of two telescopically extendable support rails (8, 8', 18, 18'), which extend in parallel to and at laterally spaced locations from one another, and on which the lifting devices (10) are guided by means of guide tubes (11) in a positive-locking manner.

    Abstract: A pressure spring tensioner comprises a cylindrical guiding tube having an axially elongated tube slot with a threaded spindle extended axially within the tube and rotatably mounted therein. The first sleeve is affixed to the tube adjacent an end thereof and it carries a first gripping clamp which is engageable over one end of the spring. A second sleeve assembly is slidable on the tube and it carries a second gripping clamp which engages with the opposite end of the spring. The second sleeve assembly includes a second sleeve slidable on the guiding tube and with a sliding snug fit and having a radial recess. A pad is arranged in the second sleeve in threaded engagement with the spindle and it has a radial finger extending through the tube slot which is of a length no longer than twice the thickness of the guiding tube and engages in the radial recess of the second sleeve.

    Abstract: A device for placing i.e., pressing in and pulling off, bearings or sleeves, in particular for axle bearings and/or wheel flange hubs of motor vehicles, includes a threaded spindle with an abutment shoulder and threaded nut, a cylindrical spacer tube with a loosely insertable front wall receiving a thrust step bearing. The device includes several axial pressure pieces which can be arranged exchangeably on the threaded spindle between the threaded nut and a workpiece. To achieve universal usability, the spacer tube is provided on one side with an end ring surface interrupted by at least one wall cutout and on the other side with a centering cone or a centering rabbet. The front wall is insertable into the spacer tube through a centering projection selectively from both end faces. In addition, the thrust step bearing is accommodated in a bearing insertion part which can be screwed into a central threaded bore of the front wall and can be replaced with the threaded spindle e.g. by a hydraulic pressing device.

    Abstract: A spring compressor for large coil springs especially for motor vehicle axle springs comprises first and second disc-like pressure plates which are located at spaced locations along the axis of a cylindrical guide tube and each has a central bore opening. A threaded spindle has a spindle head with a key profile and it is rotatably mounted in an axial thrust bearing of the cylindrical guide tube. The guide tube has a radial support surface on which one of the pressure plates is supported. A cylindrical threaded tube has internal threads insertedly engaged with the threaded spindle and the spindle is connected to the guide tube with an axial mobility so as to rotate with the guide tube. The threaded tube has an end which faces away from the spindle head which has a plurality of radial fingers which fit into corresponding recesses formed in the first pressure plate which includes radial enlargements which form passages for the radial fingers carried by the threaded tube.

    Abstract: An assembly device for the assembly and disassembly of axle bearings of motor vehicles or of wheel flange hubs, makes it possible to press in or pull out the roller bearings to be installed in or pulled out of a cylinder bore of a bearing cylinder while being guided so as to be centered. The assembly device can also press a wheel flange hub into a roller bearing that is already installed in a bearing cylinder. The device has a threaded spindle (1) which is guided and supported in an axial support bearing (2) and is provided with a threaded nut (11) in contact with a pressure transmitting part (8) or counterbearing. The axial support bearing (2) is disposed concentrically in the face wall (3) of a tubular spacer (4) which has on its face opposite the axial support bearing (2), a concentric support shoulder (26).     Abstract: A device to push a wheel flange hub or splined hub of motor vehicles out of a shaft bearing press-fitted in a bearing cylinder is of simple design and easy to handle and, in addition, adjustable to different diameters of various bearing cylinders. The device includes two each semi-cylindrical spreader sectors supported on the one hand by axial pins in eccentric axial holes in a supporting member resembling an internally threaded ring so they can swivel while having at their opposite ends projections which project radially outward and can be inserted in form closing fashion into an annular groove of the bearing cylinder. A threaded spindle equipped with a wrench engagement head and a spreading cone is adjustably screwed into a central, tapped hole of the supporting member by means of which threaded spindle the spreader sectors can be spread apart. Seated in a central, tapped hole of the threaded spindle is a pressure screw with a pressure transmitting part and a wrench head.

    Abstract: A wrench for inaccessible screw connections of motor vehicle linkages particularly for screwing and unscrewing the first part such as a ball pivot socket having its associated steering rod in respect to a second part such as a threaded pin of a pitman arm is employed in conjunction with an arrangement where both parts have diametrically opposite parallel wrench flats and one part has a stop surface for locating the wrench. The wrench includes a tube of a size to engage over the parts and has internal stop engageable with the predefined stop surface of the one part so as to ensure orientation of the tube relative to the two parts. The tube carries a ring shaped wrench head portion with a first diametrically extending recess into which a first wrench is engageable. The wrench has spaced apart wrench jaws which are engageable with the flats of the part having the stop surface.

    Abstract: A pressing tool for securing screw connections of steering linkages of motor vehicles particularly between a ball joint socket having a tubular extension and a threaded pin of a pitman arm which has two diametrically opposite parallel wrench flats which are positioned within a tubular extension of the ball joint socket. A tubular extension comprises a sleeve arranged over the ball joint socket and it has two diametrically opposed longitudinally extending slots each having a double arm lever pivotally mounted therein. The double arm lever includes a first arm portion providing a jaw oriented radially inwardly and an opposite arm portion having a camming surface. A control member is located in the sleeve adjacent the camming surface of each lever and it is mounted so as to be threadably movable axially to run along the camming surface and pivot the lever.

    Abstract: To substantially reduce the stock of spring cramp sizes needed for holding and clamping axle springs of motor vehicles having widely varying diameters, the clamping jaws of a spring cramp have a contact surface which is substantially flat and, at least in the zone of median plane of the jaw and over the entire jaw leg leading in the clamping direction, slightly slanting inwardly by an angle .alpha. of from 2.5.degree. to 6.degree., so that the radially outer edge of jaw leg trails behind the inner one during a clamping operation. In addition, a backing rib is provided projecting substantially symmetrically from the inner edge of each clamping jaw axially in the clamping direction, which rib extends through a center angle .beta. of from 30.degree. to 100.degree.. At their free ends, the jaw legs are about 1.5 to 2 times wider than in the zone of their median plane.

    Abstract: A spring cramp for large helical springs, particularly axle springs of motor vehicles, comprises two loose disc-shaped pressure plates having annular contact surfaces serving as abutments for the spring turns and provided each with a central hole, a threaded spindle, and a threaded tube. The threaded spindle is mounted by means of an axial bearing for rotary motion and concentrically in a guide tube on which a shoulder is provided near the head of the spindle, which shoulder is formed with two lug elements for securing a lower one of the pressure plates at the side of the spindle head against rotation. The threaded tube which is threadable onto the spindle may be advantageously telecopically inserted into the guide tube. The threaded tube and the guide tube are non-rotatably connected to each other by two slot-and-feather connections.

    Abstract: A compression spring cramp for large helical or coil springs, particularly, axle springs of motor vehicles, comprises, a hollow guide tube with a threaded spindle rotatably mounted in the guide tube. A first spring gripper member has an inner portion secured to the hollow guide tube adjacent the top thereof and has a substantially semi-cylindrical spring engaging channel portion which extends outwardly from the inner portion and has a channel opening extending downwardly so as to be engageable over the coil of the spring. A second gripper has an inner slider portion which is threadedly engaged on the threaded spindle for movement upwardly and downwardly on the guide tube and includes an outer portion with a substantially cylindrical spring engaging channel portion extending outwardly from the slider portion exteriorally of the guide tube and opening upwardly to engage below a coil of the spring.
