  • Patent number: 11241665
Abstract: The invention relates to a method for producing a plastic granulate (16), in which a process fluid (12) is contained in a process chamber (10) where an underwater granulation takes place and the process fluid in the process chamber has a temperature greater than 120° C. A process pressure of at least 2.0 bar is obtained in the process chamber, at which a granulation of the plastic strands (14) into plastic granulate occurs. From the process chamber, a mixture (18) of process fluid and plastic granulate is diverted into a first cooling zone (25) during cooling of the plastic granulate, while maintaining the process pressure. In a first separating device (22), the plastic granulate is separated from the process fluid under process pressure. In the process chamber, the process fluid has a temperature in the range from 120° C. to 160° C., and the process pressure obtained there is greater than the pressure of the vapour pressure curve of the process fluid.

  • Patent number: 8228691
Abstract: A method of inductively transmitting energy and information between an energy transmitter comprising a primary inductor and an energy receiver comprising a secondary inductor, wherein energy is transmitted from the energy transmitter to the energy receiver by applying an alternating voltage to the primary inductor to generate a primary alternating current in the primary inductor, thereby inducing a secondary alternating current in the secondary inductor. The information is transmitted from the energy transmitter to the energy receiver essentially only in a dedicated first section of the cycle of the alternating voltage by varying the amplitude of the alternating voltage; and information is transmitted from the energy receiver to the energy transmitter essentially only in a dedicated second section of the cycle by varying the secondary inductor's power absorption, the second section not overlapping with the first section.

  • Patent number: 8196569
Abstract: In a method for operating an internal combustion engine having exhaust gas recirculation, air is supplied to at least one combustion chamber via an intake manifold at least partially closable with the aid of a final control element, and a part of the exhaust gases flowing into an exhaust pipe is conducted via an EGR channel, which is at least partially closable with the aid of an EGR valve unit, into an area of the intake manifold, which lies between the final control element and the combustion chamber. A first variable, which characterizes the mass flow of the gas conducted through the EGR channel, is ascertained from a set of state variables of the internal combustion engine, which apply for an operating state in which the engine is in overrun operation and the final control element is essentially closed.
