  • Patent number: 5948479
Abstract: In accordance with the method according to the invention, for the production of the plastics overlay, first of all a paste is made of a plastics dispersion and fillers. This paste is free of organic solvents and is applied to a sintered porous metal layer. The multilayer material thus produced is then sintered. Since the use of organic solvents is dispensed with, health risks and the risk of fire are reduced. Moreover, the composite materials produced according to the invention exhibit excellent cavitation resistance. In addition to conventional lubricant-free applications, such as bearings, these composite materials may consequently be used in particular in gear pumps and shock absorbers.

  • Patent number: 5638974
Abstract: The invention relates to small container (2.1, 2.2), in particular of plastic, including at least one cylindrical, in particular circular cylindrical section with a means (16.1a to c, 16.2a and b, 18.2a and b) located in the region of cylindrical peripheral area of this section for producing a form-locked slide-insertion-connection with at least one further such small container. The invention is characterized in that the container is rollable in the peripheral direction perpendicular to the insertion direction with its means (16.1a to c, 16.2a and b, 18.2a and b) for producing the slide-insertion-connection on a similarly formed means (16.1a to 16c, 16.2a and b, 18.2a and b) of a further such small container and is always held in a form-locked manner in the radial direction during this rolling movement.

  • Patent number: 5402903
Abstract: A small container includes two hollow plastic parts detachably interconnected together. Each part includes substantially cylindrical side walls and opposite end walls which are disposed perpendicular to a longitudinal axis of the container. Rounded connecting portions are provided between the end walls and the side walls. A projection is provided on one end surface and a complementary recess is provided on an opposite end surface whereby a plurality of containers may be interconnected end-to-end. A plurality of ribs extending in the longitudinal direction of the container alternate with a plurality of grooves continuously about the entire periphery of the container whereby a plurality of containers may be laterally interconnected together by sliding the rib of one container into a groove of another container.

  • Patent number: 4540630
Abstract: A composite material for use as shock absorber, as bushings or the like having controlled friction characteristics of a layer bonded to a metal substrate is formed by applying a particulate composition of a thermoplastic synthetic resin and carbon fibers having a maximum length of 1 mm to the substrate and heating it to a temperature of 50.degree. to 70.degree. K. above the melting temperature of the synthetic resin.
