  • Publication number: 20200109783
Abstract: A method for producing a seal between two roof frame elements for a vehicle roof is described and having the steps of providing the two roof frame elements in such a manner that an overlap region is formed, wherein at least one gap is formed in the overlap region; mechanically supported introduction of a hardening sealing material into the gap by an applicator device in such a manner that the sealing material flows into the gap and subsequently hardens in order to form a gap seal. Arrangements resulting from the described methods is also disclosed.

  • Patent number: 6125591
Abstract: A seal system for a door (2), preferably on a motor vehicle, with a frame seal (4) which on the door frame (10) which has at least one hollow chamber (5) which can be pressurized with different pressures. A seal surface (6) facing the door (2) assumes a concave shape under minimum pressure and a convex shape under maximum pressure. The area of the door seal (3) which fits against the frame seal (4) with the door closed has a contact surface with a contour which is complementary to the outside contour of the seal surface (6) with the hollow chamber (5) expanded. The frame seal (4) has at least one seal part (7A, 7B) projects beyond the seal surface (6) towards the contact surface of door seal (3) for protection of the seal surface (6) and for improving the sealing action of the seal system when the seal surface (6) has a concave shape.

  • Patent number: 6030024
Abstract: A door arrangement for opening and closing a motor vehicle door in a door opening (2) in an outside vehicle wall (1), having at least one door panel (3) which, in the closed position, assumes a position that is essentially flush position with the outside wall (1) and which can be swung into an open position which at least partially exposes the door opening, and in which the door panel (3), outside of the vehicle, assumes a roughly parallel position to outside wall (1). The door panel (3) is connected to the vehicle to swing via at least one pivoting lever (5). To enhance the sealing action in the closed position, it is provided that a forward edge (31) of the door panel (3), by way of a linkage mechanism (7, 8, 9) executes a movement by which this edge (31) fits from inside behind the associated edge (door frame 4B) of outside wall (1) or a seal (10) located thereon, in the closed position.

  • Patent number: 5851051
Abstract: A cover (3) of a sliding-lifting roof or a lifting roof, which serves to selectively close or, at least partially, expose a roof opening in a vehicle roof (1). The vehicle roof (1) is provided with a seal (4). A specific surface roughness (8) is provided, at least in the area of the cover front edge (7), in order to avoid squeaking or creaking noises during pivoting movement of the cover (3). This roughness, preferably, is created during injection molding or foam casting of the cover (3) by a corresponding roughness provided on a shaping surface of the mold.
