  • Patent number: 5092386
Abstract: A spacer for lamella carriers of vertical lamella blinds comprises an oblong, strip-shaped section, an end connector element for positive engagement with the lamella carrier, as well as a detent arranged at its free end that can be guided into seating with the neighboring lamella carrier. For simplification of assembly and in order to avoid a spreading of the strip-shaped sections, the connector element of the spacer carriers two channels at its side facing away from the lamella carrier, these two channels being directed toward one another and their spacing and width essentially corresponding to the dimensions of the strip-shaped section of the spacer, so that the strip-shaped section of the spacer of the following lamella carrier is capable of sliding in these channels during extension of retraction.

  • Patent number: 5067544
Abstract: A worm drive for setting the angular position of vertical slat blinds comprising a vertical axis or shaft arranged inside a slat carrier housing and carrying a pinion torsionally connected thereto and having its end side joined to a slat. A worm rotatable by a drive shaft is in drive engagement with the pinion. This worm drive is characterized by a worm having an axial center opening that, given significantly simplified assembly and reduced structural depth of the slat carrier housing, is held by a snap-on sleeve on a projection of the slat carrier housing shaped like a connecting piece. The worm is provided with an inside dentation that is in engagement with cams arranged at the outside circumference of the snap-on sleeve and thus forms a friction clutch that allows a hamrless overturning of the worm as a consequence of the limited transmission of torque.

  • Patent number: 4887657
Abstract: The invention pertains to a spacer for each of two adjacent slats of a vertical blind, each of which is attached at its upper end section to a slat holder which can move along a track, essentially consisting of a lengthwise, strip-like section which at one end section can be firmly connected in a positive manner by means of a first connection element with a second connection element of a first slat holder and can be guided along a guide on an adjacent second slat holder so that it can be moved relative to the second slat holder, and which has at its end section facing away from the first slat holder a catch by means of which it can be retained in the guide when the slats are drawn apart, wherein the first connection element is configured so that it can alternatively be firmly connected at at least two points lying behind one another along the length of the spacer to a trolley.

  • Patent number: 4418461
Abstract: The invention relates to a process for producing ready-to-use slats from semifinished slat portions for a slatted Venetian blind having vertically directed slats. In connection with the process, the slat portions are in each case cut at their free lower end to the length corresponding to the installation height, plus an extra length that takes into account a wrap-over portion. The wrap-over portion of a slat is in each case folded over at a bending edge predetermined by the use length. The lower end part of a slat is provided, in the vicinity of the wrap-over portion, with a system of perforations consisting of at least two holes for receiving retaining pins of a retaining means. The retaining pins are passed through the holes and locked.

  • Patent number: 4103727
Abstract: A slatted blind comprises vertically disposed slats each mounted at a top end thereof on pivot means carried for rotation about a vertical axis by a respective guide carriage movable along a support rail. At least one of the guide carriages carries a nut provided externally with a first gear ring, the nut being rotatably and axially immovably mounted on the carriage and being engaged on a rotatable threaded operating rod extending longitudinally of the support rail. The pivot means comprises a bush and a shaft retained in the bush, the slat being mounted on the shaft and a top end of the bush being provided externally with a second gear ring meshing with the first gear ring on the nut. Engaging clutch surfaces of the bush and shaft form a slip clutch operative on rotation of the operating rod to rotate the slat about its longitudinal axis to a limiting position and then to slip to cause displacement of the guide carriage along the support rail.
