Patent number: 5157202Abstract: For recovery of low-boiling hydrocarbons by scrubbing, the crude gas mixture which contains low-boiling and high-boiling hydrocarbons, is treated with a scrubbing agent, by which the high-boiling components are scrubbed-out of the gas mixture. The loaded scrubbing agent, with the addition of liquid medium miscible with the scrubbing agent and which reduces the solubility for the scrubbed-out hydrocarbons, is regenerated and the completely regenerated scrubbing agent is recycled to the scrubbing. The regeneration is preferably divided into the following individual steps:(a) stripping of the loaded scrubbing agent, optionally with addition of medium,(b) addition of the liquid medium to partially regenerate scrubbing agent, decanting of the split phases,(c) stripping of the resultant decanted scrubbing agent/medium mixture, and(d) rectifying the scrubbing agent/medium mixture to separate the scrubbing agent.Type: GrantFiled: February 22, 1991Date of Patent: October 20, 1992Assignee: Linde AktiengesellschaftInventors: Heinz Bauer, Hans Becker, Horst Weiss

Patent number: 4938783Abstract: In a process for the purification of coal gasification gases, synthesis gas and fuel gas are simultaneously produced. In order to obtain a fuel gas rich in CO.sub.2, capable of handling fluctuations in demand, and to produce at the same time a highly concentrated H.sub.2 S fluid fraction, a portion of the crude gas, scrubbed to synthesis gas purity, is utilized for stripping out CO.sub.2 under pressure from scrubbing medium loaded exclusively with CO.sub.2. The partially stripped CO.sub.2 -loaded scrubbing medium is employed for the concentration of sulfur compounds in an H.sub.2 S/COS-loaded scrubbing medium.Type: GrantFiled: May 13, 1988Date of Patent: July 3, 1990Assignee: Linde AktiengesellschaftInventors: Gerhard Ranke, Horst Weiss

Patent number: 4609384Abstract: To regenerate a physical solvent, loaded with sour gases, especially CO.sub.2 and H.sub.2 S, the loaded solvent is treated with a stripping gas and/or is expanded to separate absorbed CO.sub.2 and the resultant solvent is subjected to thermal regeneration to desorb H.sub.2 S. To reduce energy requirements during regeneration, the CO.sub.2 desorption is conducted on at least two different temperature levels, the second being for example 30.degree.-80.degree. C. higher than the first, with the first being conducted, e.g., at about those low temperatures conventional to low temperature absorption systems.Type: GrantFiled: December 4, 1984Date of Patent: September 2, 1986Assignee: Linde AktiengesellschaftInventors: Gerhard Ranke, Horst Weiss

Patent number: 4552509Abstract: Two rotationally symmetrically correlated components of a turbomachine, such as a gas turbine engine, define between them an air duct surrounding the axis of the components. A resilient band-like wall section extending radially from the first component bears resiliently in an axial direction against a wall section projecting radially from the second component to provide a seal for the duct. Another wall section of each component cooperate to form a radially extending tongue-in-groove joint, which may incorporate another seal for the duct, this joint permitting relative axial and radial movements between the two components. Means may be provided to maintain the fluid pressure within the duct higher than the pressure exterior thereto. The two components may be joined together by a bayonet-type connection. One of the components may comprise two members so that the member carrying part of the bayonet-type connection can be rotated with respect to the other member during assembly of the two components.Type: GrantFiled: January 29, 1981Date of Patent: November 12, 1985Assignee: Motoren-und Turbinen-Union Munchen GmbHInventors: Ludwig Schweikl, Horst Weiss, Friedrich Sippel
