  • Patent number: 9261322
Abstract: A rifle bow assembly is disclosed herein. The rifle bow assembly includes: an outer barrel slide subassembly having an elongate cavity disposed therethrough, and being configured to affixedly attached to a bow assembly such that the outer barrel slide subassembly remains stationary relative to the bow assembly; a projectile barrel subassembly configured to be slidingly received within the elongate cavity of the outer barrel slide subassembly, and the projectile barrel subassembly having a rifled projectile passageway extending in a lengthwise direction thereof; a magazine subassembly coupled to a second end of the projectile barrel subassembly and having attachment means for securing a projectile magazine thereto; and a release subassembly coupled to an end portion of the magazine subassembly, and having at least one string release mechanism for releasably engaging a bow string of the bow assembly. A rifle bow, which incorporates the rifle bow assembly, is also disclosed herein.

  • Patent number: 5675872
Abstract: A jamming cleat having a groove 156 for receiving a flexible elongate element 180, said groove being defined between opposed side walls 158 each of which is provided with a plurality of ridges 170 for gripping such an elongate element received in the groove, said ridges being inclined with respect to a base 162 of the groove in an axial direction of the groove away from an end 172 of said groove base, the ridge of each side wall disposed furthest from said end 172, the rear most ridge, having a distal end 174 disposed further from said groove base 162 than the respective distal end 176, 178 of the other ridges of the respective side wall. The arrangement of the ridges 170 is such that a flexible elongate element inserted therebetween in a generally lateral direction of the groove towards an end 173 of the groove base is first received at least between the rearmost ridges.

  • Patent number: 4361938
Abstract: A jamming cleat has a groove to receive and grip a rope. At least a part of the depth of the groove has facing side walls each of which is formed with a plurality of ridges. The edges are inclined upwardly from the base of the groove towards one end of the groove, and the crests of the ridges on each side of the groove lie generally in one common ridge crest plane. The ridge crest planes converge downwardly towards the bottom of the groove and diverge lengthwise of the groove away from the said one end of the groove. In use a rope or cord is laid in the groove and pulled through the groove in a direction away from the said one end of the groove. The ridges draw the rope down towards the bottom of the groove so as to jam the rope in the groove. The extent to which the rope is drawn down into the groove increases progressively away from the said one end but the rope is gripped generally uniformly along the length of the groove because of the divergence of the ridge crest planes.
