  • Publication number: 20100235283
Abstract: A computer implemented system provides a method of conducting a financial transaction. The method begins when the system assigns a designator of a value using a preauthorization by a payor. The system associates the payor with an authorized payor telephone identifier. When the system receives a telephone call with the authorized payor telephone identifier at a specified Direct Inward Dial (DID) telephone number associated with a transaction type, the system responds by sending at least one transaction code to the payor. When the system receives the transaction code from the payee, the designator of value is re-asssigned to from the payor to the payee. The system allows the transaction code to be delivered directly from the payor to the payee or sent automatically to the payee. Each DID telephone number represents different transaction types such as Automatic Teller Machine (ATM), Person-To-Person (P2P), merchant transactions, vending transactions and other types of transactions.

  • Publication number: 20030182243
Abstract: The present invention is directed to an apparatus and method for conducting delegated tasks in response to a remote signal. The apparatus includes terminals, such as coin-operated electronic apparatus or consumer electronic apparatus, that are equipped with a module having a controller component configured to transfer and receive telephonic and data commands to activate a function of the terminal remotely and monitor certain conditions within the terminal. The method comprises the steps of accessing an electronic communication device of the terminal through a communication device of the user (i.e. mobile phone, PDA, etc.), a module receiving, authenticating and executing the command inputted at the user's communication device in response to the command and, optionally, monitoring the functions of the terminal and communicating a related signal to an associated data network.

  • Patent number: 5562093
Abstract: A mouth-to-mouth barrier for facilitating mouth-to-mouth resuscitation of a heart attack or accident victim or the like while protecting a rescuer, includes a transparent shield and a breathing tube extending through an opening in the shield. Within the tube, an air passage is defined by a generally cylindrical inner wall. The inner wall forms an upper cylinder of a first diameter and then the inner wall then tapers outward toward an outer wall to form a lower cylinder of a second diameter which is larger in diameter than the upper cylinder. A retaining ring is snapped into place within the lower cylinder which ring serves as a keeper to hold a generally conical valve member in place within the lower cylinder. The valve member is thus movable between a rest, open position atop the ring and a closed position in which it abuts the tapered portion of the inner wall.

  • Patent number: 5119809
Abstract: A mouth-to-mouth barrier for facilitating mouth-to-mouth resuscitation of a heart attack or accident victim or the like while protecting a rescuer, includes a transparent shield and a breathing tube extending through an opening in the shield. A light weight air impermeable plate is positioned within the breathing tube and is free to move between a lower position which permits air to flow from the rescuer around the plate and through the tube and an upper position which blocks airflow from the victim back towards the rescuer. The breathing tube has a plurality of longitudinally extending strengthening ribs and an integrally molded grid on the bottom thereof to strengthen and rigidize the structure. The plate is a different color than the breathing tube to enhance the perception of safety by a potential rescuer. Alphanumeric information, including precautionary notes and instructions are printed on the transparent shield.
