  • Patent number: 4434794
Abstract: An ear plug is described, which includes a shell formed of closed cell foam material, with the shell surface having a multiplicity of small bumps that also form the walls of cells which lie at the surface of the shell, whereby to avoid wrinkling when the shell is squeezed into the ear canal. A stem of resilient material lies freely moveable in the shell, and is short so it extends substantially no further than the open end of the shell.

  • Patent number: 3970082
Abstract: An ear protector assembly which can be mounted on a protective helmet, including a mount which can be attached to the side of the helmet, a linkage pivotally connected to the mount, and an earplug mounted on an end of the linkage. The linkage includes a pair of pivotally mounted bars that enable adjustment of the earplug position into alignment with the ear canal of the wearer, while resisting outward deflection so the earplug can be pressed against the ear canal. The linkage can be resiliently deflected outwardly so the earplug can move around the rim of the helmet and rest upon the rim for stowage out of the way of the wearer.

  • Patent number: 3943925
Abstract: An ear protector assembly which can be easily put on and removed, including a mount which is readily attached to the temple bar of an eyeglass frame, an arm having an inner end pivotably connected to the mount, and an earplug fixed to an outer end of the arm. The mount has fasteners that enable a workman to clamp the mount at a location along the temple bar wherein the earplugs properly enter his ears, and thereafter every time he puts on his eyeglasses and pivots the arms inwardly the earplugs will properly enter his ears. The earplug assemblies are primarily useful for mounting on safety glasses, so that a workman has to put on only one apparatus to simultaneously protect his eyes and ears.
