Abstract: A system for the playback of content files includes a memory storing a content file including a plurality of stems, each stem encoding a portion of the audio of a sound recording, multiple stems in the plurality of stems representing different portions of the sound recording for the same time period, the content file also including a set of instructions controlling playback of the stems. A decoder is configured to decode the stems according to the set of instructions to create an audio output signal.

Abstract: A method and apparatus for organizing, authoring and converting different format content files into one or more common output formats which simplifies the entire authoring and production processes. The content files are uploaded to the authoring system and identified. The content files are then sent to a central server and the authoring system relates all the related content files with each other. An embodiment allows the authoring system to populate a reference database with the pertinent information that identifies the relationship between the files. Once the content is produced, identified and stored, a user can then author a collection. The authoring system is located on a central server which contains all of the content and reference databases and performs the content conversion. The authoring system server can be accessed via the Internet or an intranet so the user can access the authoring system from anywhere there is a network connection.

Abstract: The present invention is a method and system of allowing a user to receive additional information regarding broadcast content. A user's playback device is provided with an “Info Button” that can be clicked by the user to tag the content or sub-content while experiencing the content or sub-content. The user can be provided with information and/or commerce opportunities relating to the tagged content. Identifiers, markers and fingerprints that can identify the individual content and sub-content can be captured by the playback device when the Info Button is clicked. A Content ID can be transmitted or played back with the content and can be a unique identifier to the content. Further, a Broadcast ID, a FSA ID and a Device Manufacturer ID can also be transmitted or associated with the content.
