Publication number: 20090315704Abstract: The present invention provides a luggage finder that uses navigation system technology to locate baggage. A navigation system beacon device (NSBD) is stored in, on or near a luggage item, and is turned off and on respectively by an accelerometer during take-off and landing of aircraft, such that the transmitted reporting signal is disabled while the plane is in flight. A signal from the NSBD is transmitted to a central server, from which the location of the baggage is communicated to its owner by an email message or by a posting at a web site that can be accessed by the owner.Type: ApplicationFiled: June 19, 2008Publication date: December 24, 2009Applicant: Global Biomedical Development, LLC, a Georgia limited liability companyInventors: Howard Stephen Rosing, Richard John Cross

Patent number: 7128514Abstract: A clip has a retainer for securing the clip and a wire harness to a bolt protruding from a vehicle surface. The retainer includes a beam having an aperture with an inner wall. The aperture receives the bolt. A flange projects into the aperture from the wall. An opening in the wall opposite the flange communicates with a passage in the beam. A sliding component of the retainer has a flanged end for insertion into the passage and through the beam into the aperture. The flange and the flanged end of the component are received between selected threads of the bolt to clamp the bolt in the aperture. Projections extending from opposite edges of the sliding component are received in cavities along side walls of the beam passage in positions corresponding to the size of the bolt. The projections and cavities cooperate to secure the sliding component in the beam.Type: GrantFiled: April 8, 2005Date of Patent: October 31, 2006Assignee: Yazaki North America, Inc.Inventor: Howard Stephen Le Beau

Patent number: 7033194Abstract: A first electrical wire terminal is designed to mate with a second, identical electrical wire terminal rotated ninety degrees about a longitudinal axis and turned to face the first terminal. In one embodiment, the first and second terminals each have an insertion member and a semi-rectangular receiving member forming a slot. The slot has a bowed side providing a resilient contact surface biased against the insertion member. The insertion member and the receiving member are arranged in a pattern such that they have adjacent edges with the insertion member extending perpendicular to the receiving member. The receiving member includes an aperture for accepting a projection on the insertion member to help maintain the electrical contact. In another embodiment, each terminal has a pair of insertion members and a pair of receiving members. The pairs are arranged in a box-like pattern with the insertion members having adjacent edges and the receiving members having adjacent edges as well.Type: GrantFiled: December 14, 2004Date of Patent: April 25, 2006Assignee: Yazaki North America, Inc.Inventor: Howard Stephen Le Beau

Patent number: 6916315Abstract: Methods of operating and logging the usage of a photo-thermal epilation apparatus provide for the logging of usage information as the apparatus is employed for each epilation session. The operational information may be applied to determine when calibration is required, if additional usage funds must be paid before additional sessions may be conducted, and or when and who conducted epilation sessions with the apparatus. A usage log may be stored within a database that contains entries of operation or usage information. Each usage log entry may include information associated with a client, an operator, as well as other useful information related to the usage of the apparatus. The apparatus may further be configured to communicate with at least one remote computer. The communication with the remote computer may be included for enabling operation and usage of the apparatus to be metered, monitored, and or purchased in pre-determined usage allotments.Type: GrantFiled: October 7, 2002Date of Patent: July 12, 2005Inventors: Kenneth Lawrence Short, Howard Stephen Bertan
