  • Patent number: 7411906
Abstract: A method for optimizing frequency of a clock signal is provided for operations of a network switch. The network switch includes a clock signal generator for generating the clock signal, and a plurality of input/output ports for communicating therevia with at least one network node. Firstly, a control signal is asserted to the clock signal generator according to a certain condition of the input/output ports, e.g. the count of the I/O ports in use or the overall data transmission rate of the I/O ports in use. Then, the frequency of the clock signal outputted from the clock signal generator is adjusted in response to the control signal.

  • Patent number: 7023189
Abstract: A voltage regulator circuit for use with an integrated circuit (IC) chip and an external voltage source includes a first transistor and a second transistor. The first transistor has the emitter thereof electrically connected to the external voltage source and the collector thereof electrically connected to the IC chip via a power input pin. The second transistor has the collector thereof electrically connected to ground, the base thereof electrically connected to the IC chip via a voltage-regulation control pin, and the emitter electrically connected to the base of the first transistor. The voltage regulator circuit is utilized for regulating a source voltage received from the external voltage source via the first transistor in response to a current signal flowing through the voltage-regulation control pin to have the regulated voltage inputted into the integrated circuit chip via the power input pin.

  • Patent number: 6924658
Abstract: A device and a method are used to check signal transmission quality of a circuit board. The circuit board communicates a source device with a destination device via a trace. The device for checking signal transmission quality is arranged in the source device, and includes a first comparator electrically connected to the trace, and generating a first counting signal in response to a first comparison result of a test signal transmitted through the trace with a first reference signal; a first counter electrically connected to the first comparator, and counting in response to the first counting signal to generate a first accumulatively counted value; and a discriminator determining the signal transmission quality of the circuit board according to accumulatively counted value.

  • Publication number: 20050020148
Abstract: A signal-line socket includes a housing, a circuit board, a socket terminal and a signal pin. The housing has a socket hole for receiving a plug of an external signal line. The circuit board is disposed in the housing and has room for mounting thereon an analog circuit chip. The socket terminal is electrically connected to the circuit board and exposed from the socket hole to be electrically connected to the plug of the external signal line for connecting the network signal line to the analog circuit chip. The signal pin is electrically connected to the circuit board and exposed from the housing to be electrically connected to a main board of a computer for connecting the analog circuit chip to the main board of the computer.
