  • Publication number: 20230229021
Abstract: A contact lens, which can be any of a conventional rigid contact lens, an orthokeratology lens, a scleral lens or a soft contact lens, which has one or more peripheral annular zones adjacent to and radially outward from a central optical zone of the contact lens. The peripheral annular zones include an alignment zone for orientation control, upright control or peripheral alignment to improve the molding effect of an orthokeratology lens, a comfort or vision quality of a regular RGP, scleral contact lens or soft contact lens. The sagittal height of the lens in the alignment zone along a sub-axis differs from the sagittal height of the lens along at least one other sub-axis.

  • Publication number: 20170052390
Abstract: An anti-glare correction lens has a central optical zone and a peripheral optical zone, which respectively define, with respect to the optical axis, a first focal point within a range of 2 degrees and a second focal point within a range of 2-10 degrees, and achieves a multi-focal correction function. Front curvatures or back curvatures are arranged to have curvatures that are varied radially outward from the central optical zone by each incrementing at least 2 diopters so as to define an aspheric configuration. The anti-glare layer absorbs internal reflection caused by the rear arc sections so as to prevent occurrence of glare.

  • Patent number: 7360892
Abstract: A kit for determining a hypothetical cornea for use with post-LASIK and post myopia Ortho-K amendment. The kit has a reference table for determining conformation data by using at least one of following data: pre-treatment KM readings, post-treatment KM readings, power reduced from before- to after-treatment, and post-treatment cornea optical zone. The kit further comprises a plurality of conformed lenses based on the conformation data in predetermined increments from the reference table. The pre-treatment KM readings comprise pre-operative or pre-ortho-K readings. The post-treatment KM readings comprise post-operative or post ortho-K readings. The post-treatment cornea optical zone comprises post-operative or post-ortho-K cornea optical zone. Also, a method of determining a hypothetical cornea for use with post-LASIK and post myopia Ortho-K amendment is disclosed.

  • Patent number: 7070275
Abstract: A contact lens is fitted to a cornea of a patient's eye to gradually alter the patient's cornea during continued wear to reshape the cornea to reduce the hyperopia and/or presbyopia condition. The contact lens has a plurality of zones that includes one or two optical zones, a plateau zone, a fitting zone, an alignment zone and a peripheral zone. The one or more optical zones are utilized to redistribute cornea tissue to cause the cornea to have a steepened central portion surrounded by a flat mid-peripheral ring The plateau zone helps steepening the central cornea by two ways: a positive molding effect of pushing the cornea tissue inward to pile up and a negative molding effect to flatten the mid-peripheral cornea for enhancing.

  • Patent number: 6997553
Abstract: A contact lens is fitted to a cornea of a patient's eye to gradually alter the patient's cornea during continued wear to reshape the altered cornea conditions such as the corneas of post refractive surgery, post previous Ortho-K. and keratoconus. The contact lens has a plurality of zones that comprise one optical zone, at least one conformation zone, a connecting zones complex, an alignment zone and a peripheral zone. The one or more conformation zones are utilized to conform the angle of the central optical zone, as well as the alignment zone, to compress on the central and mid-peripheral portion of the altered cornea for redistribute cornea tissue to reduce the residual refractive errors, after refractive surgery, or to smooth out the central cornea surface of the keratoconus for better bare or spectacle vision after contact lens are removed.
