  • Patent number: 6668859
Abstract: A collet assembly includes a collet and a tubular valve sleeve sleeved on a rotary shaft that is disposed within a stationary wall body and which defines a piston-receiving chamber. A piston is disposed movably in the piston-receiving chamber. The valve sleeve is formed with a valve opening therein, a valve chamber extending from the valve opening, a valve inlet in fluid communication with the valve chamber and a fluid injection passage in the stationary wall body, and a valve outlet in fluid communication with the valve chamber and a fluid channel in the shaft. A check valve is mounted in the valve chamber, and is moved to an open position, in which, the valve opening is opened due to injection of a high-pressure hydraulic oil into a clearance through the fluid injection passage, thereby permitting movement of the piston, which, in turn, results in clamping of the collet.

  • Patent number: 6497417
Abstract: A collet chuck includes a tubular body and a rotating shaft assembly that is journalled within the tubular body and that defines a frustoconical recess therewithin. A belt pulley is sleeved fixedly on the rotating shaft assembly. A collet is disposed operably within the recess in the rotating shaft assembly, and is adapted to hold a rod-shaped workpiece therewithin. A movable member is mounted axially and movably within the tubular body for movement in tightening and loosening directions. A front oil chamber is formed in the tubular body, and is located immediately in front of the movable member. A rear oil chamber is formed in the tubular body, and is located immediately behind the movable member. A first oil passage is formed in the tubular body and is in fluid communication with the front oil chamber so that hydraulic oil can be fed thereinto, thereby moving the movable member within the tubular body in the tightening direction so as to compress the collet.

  • Patent number: 6298758
Abstract: A lathe includes a polygon machining cutter unit and a turret unit, which are attached to a cutter carrying plate that can be driven to move on a machine body in longitudinal and transverse directions of a spindle. The spindle is connected mechanically to a cutter shaft of the cutter unit by means of a transmission, which includes a rigid driving shaft, a rigid driven shaft, and first and second gearings. The driving shaft and the driven shaft extend respectively on the machine body in the longitudinal and transverse directions of the spindle, and are interconnected by the first gearing. The second gearing interconnects the driven shaft and the cutter shaft for transferring rotation therebetween.
