  • Patent number: 9068030
Abstract: The present invention provides a process for preparing high melt strength propylene polymer by direct polymerization, comprising that a propylene polymer with wide molecular weight distribution and containing “very high molecular weight fraction” can be prepared by controlling the species and ratios of the external electron donors in the Ziegler-Natta catalyst system at different reaction stages according to the requirement for different molecular weight fractions in the different propylene polymerization stage of the series operation, and said polymer has excellent mechanical properties, especially with very high melt strength. The present invention also provides a propylene homopolymer with high melt strength, comprising the following features: (1) the MFR is 0.2-10 g/10 min at 230° C. with a load of 2.16 kg; (2) the molecular weight distribution Mw/Mn is 6-20; (3) the content of the fraction with a molecular weight higher than 5,000,000 is higher than or equal to 0.

  • Patent number: 8999195
Abstract: A liquid crystal smectic A composition that can be switched by the application of different electric fields across it between a first stable state (left hand block in FIG. 4) and at least one second stable state (right hand block in FIG. 4) in which the composition is less ordered than in the first state. The radiation transmission properties of the first and second states are different.

  • Patent number: 8956548
Abstract: The present, invention relates to liquid crystal compositions having a smectic A structure for use in an optical device in which the composition is sandwiched between a pair of electrodes (12-15). In essence the composition includes a siloxane oligomer (component (a)) which may be seen to construct a layered SmA system of particular spacing and “strength”. Within this structure a low molar mass nematic mesogen (component (c)) is provided that may be considered to be that of a “plasticiser” which moderates the layer “strength”, while simultaneously providing tuneability to the properties of the composition, e.g. its refractive index or dielectric anisotropy. The addition of a side chain liquid crystal polysiloxane (component (d)) allows such systems to be further moderated since they can be considered as binding together the la>¾rs, both within a given layer and between layers.

  • Publication number: 20130152108
Abstract: A method and system for video processing is disclosed. A device driver interface (DDI) call for flipping or updating an overlay may be skipped or ignored, and may not be used by a user mode driver to pass overlay properties to a kernel mode driver (KMD). Instead, the overlay properties may be passed to the KMD at rendering time during a DDI call for rendering. The user mode driver may call a DDI for rendering an overlay frame while simultaneously passing the overlay property data to the KMD. The KMD may store the overlay property data in an overlay flip queue, program the overlay hardware per the overlay property data stored in the overlay flip queue, and flip the overlay in response to the vertical synchronization deferred procedure call.

  • Publication number: 20110161963
Abstract: An apparatus for generating a cyclostationary extension for scheduling periodic software tasks may include a processor and a memory storing executable computer program code that causes the apparatus to at least perform operations including determining a time period including time periods associated with one or more radios. Each of the radios may include algorithms that are executable during respective time intervals of the time period. The computer program code may cause the apparatus to cyclically repeating each of the algorithms a number of times for the duration of the time period. In this regard, the algorithms may be executable a plurality of times during the time period. The computer program code may cause the apparatus to determine whether the algorithms are assignable to processors for execution during the respective time intervals based at least in part on a value. Corresponding computer program products and methods are also provided.
