Abstract: A device (10) for mixing and dispensing bone cement includes a mixing cylinder (20), in which a mixing plunger (21) is arranged, the mixing plunger (21) being axially movable by an actuation rod (50) guided out in a sealed manner at a first cylinder end (30). A sealing plunger (42) is arranged in a region of the first cylinder end (30), is axially movable on the actuation rod (50) and seals the mixing cylinder (20) in a gas-tight manner. A sterilization plunger (41) is arranged in the region of the first cylinder end (30) between the mixing plunger (21) and the sealing plunger (42), is axially movable on the actuation rod (50) separately from the sealing plunger (42), and seals the mixing cylinder (20) in a gas-permeable manner. The sterilization plunger (41) and the sealing plunger (42) form a two-part plunger system (40).

The pulling device (20) has a grip element (30) and a coupling element (40), and the coupling element (40) has at least one recess (41, 41?). In a free position (100) the active substance chain (50) is arranged separated from the pulling device (20), while in an inserted position (110) at least one of the storage units (51) is arranged form-fitting in a recess (41, 41?). The active substance chain (50) can be moved reversibly from the free position (100) into the inserted position (110).

Abstract: The invention relates to a polymethylmethacrylate bone cement composition that contains polymethylmethacrylate, radio-opaquer, methylmethacrylate and/or alkylmethacrylates, and an initiator system and comprises, in addition, ferromagnetic and/or superparamagnetic particles of a particle size of up to maximally 500 ?m—which allows it to be heated by alternating magnetic fields—and further contains at least one biodegradable or biocompatible crystalline substance having a melting point in the range of 43-46° C. The cured cement can be used for local over-heating (hyperthermia) therapy in the absence of undesired temperature peaks.

Abstract: What is described are sporicidal compositions, in which hydrogen peroxide and at least one radical stabilizer are homogeneously dissolved in a methacrylate monomer or a mixture of methacrylate monomers, and the quantitative ratio of radical stabilizer to hydrogen peroxide is larger than or equal to 1 to 1. The sporicidal monomer/monomer mixture is usually used for producing single component bone cement pastes; two-component bone cement pastes or monomer solutions for polymethylmethacrylate bone cements that are based on cement powder and monomer liquid.
