  • Patent number: 6952087
Abstract: In the method of controlling a process for moving a part (20) by an electric motor (12) against an end stop, pinching events are detected by monitoring a motor operating variable, such as a motor rpm, and if pinching is detected the motor (12) is stopped and/or reversed. The electric power triggering the motor (12) at the start of and during a startup phase while system slack is taken up is controlled so that it is constant and lower than the power triggering the motor in an ensuing operating phase (54) in which the part (20) moves. Preferably power during the startup phase is reduced to power values that are just barely enough to move the motor while system slack is taken up. In a preferred embodiment the applied motor voltage is reduced and controlled by a power end stage that includes a bipolar transistor or a field effect transistor.

  • Patent number: 6437530
Abstract: A method for the electronic monitoring and control of the opening and closing operation of electrically operated aggregates, particularly of window lifters and sunroofs in motor vehicles, is described. A regulating unit of the aggregate is connected to a vehicle electrical system. The regulating unit is directly influenceable via electrical operating control elements, i.e., via a control-electronics interfacing circuitry connected to the aggregate. The control electronics interfacing circuitry is supplied with a signal that is a function of an accelerative force acting on a motor-vehicle body. The signal which is a function of the accelerative force, is determined from a motor speed of the regulating unit.

  • Patent number: 6369378
Abstract: The device for the detection of a wetting of a pane of glass, has an optical rain sensor which detects extraneous light and evaluates it for purposes of day-night detection. The amount of light striking the receiver (14) is integrated in an integration stage (16) and supplied to a comparator stage (20). The total light quantity formed by the light of a transmitter (12) and extraneous light and the extraneous light quantity detected when the transmitter (12) is switched off are measured in separate time intervals (Tg, Tf, Tf′). The time interval (Tf, Tf′) utilized for measurement of the extraneous light quantity is to be extended after a predeterminable number of measurement cycles (M) or after a predeterminable time period and/or the threshold (S2) is to be lowered for day-night detection.

  • Patent number: 6346787
Abstract: A method is proposed for positioning a part that is moveable by a drive back and forth between two end positions. For a predefined number of approaches toward one of the end positions, the drive is stopped before reaching this end position and its direction of rotation is changed, and during a subsequent approach toward the end position, the end position is reached, detected and stored for the purpose of normalization, the predefined number being generated in a control unit as random number.
