  • Patent number: 11383406
Abstract: The preform made of a 3D fibrous structure comprises at least 3 layers (1, 2) of weft yarns and/or warp yarns, the structure being woven as a single part by multilayer weaving between a plurality of layers of warp yarns and a plurality of layers of weft yarns. It comprises a predetermined distribution of points of intersection of warp yarn and weft yarn that are bonded by polymer. The polymer represents a mass of less than or equal to 10%. The preform comprises at least one thermoformed portion in which the warp yarns and the weft yarns are bonded at the intersections thereof by polymer where at least one of the warp and/or weft yarns bears polymer.
    Type: Grant

Date of Patent: July 12, 2022
    Assignee: PORCHER INDUSTRIES
Inventors: Jean Vincent Risicato, Patrick Varaniac, Hubert Perrin, William Dussenne

  • Patent number: 7097432
Abstract: A turbocharger having a variable geometry turbine inlet incorporating a cylindrical piston movable to vary the area of the inlet nozzle into the turbine. Vanes mounted to the piston for flow control in the nozzle are received through a slotted heat shield which provides smooth aerodynamic flow into the turbine blades. The vanes additionally incorporate a step having larger cord and depth that engages the surface of the heat shield and seals the slots with the piston in a closed position. An axial actuator is attached for operation of the piston.

  • Patent number: 7024855
Abstract: A turbocharger having a variable geometry turbine inlet incorporates a piston movable to vary the area of the inlet nozzle into the turbine. Vanes extending from the heat shield for flow control in the nozzle are engaged by the piston in a first closed position. In a second open position, the piston is spaced from the vanes increasing the inlet nozzle area.

  • Patent number: 6694733
Abstract: A turbocharger having a variable geometry turbine intake incorporating a mobile cylindrical piston (70) for varying the area of the induction nozzle in the turbine (18). Blades (90) mounted on the piston for controlling the flow in the nozzle penetrate through a slotted heat shield (92) having a central opening wherein the rear disc of the turbine wheel is embedded to provide a smooth aerodynamic flow in the turbine vanes. A shield (100) engaged between the heat screen and a central housing of the turbocharger prevents the gas from the rear disc cavity from recycling into the cavity housing the blades further enhancing the aerodynamic flow. An axial actuating device (77) is secured for operating the piston via a shaft coupled by a cross (72) to the piston and coupled to an actuating hub (118) in the actuating device by quick connect unthreaded connection (122).

  • Publication number: 20040025504
Abstract: The invention concerns a turbocharger with a variable geometry turbine comprising a mobile cylindrical piston (70) to modify the cross-section of the input nozzle to the turbine. Vanes (90) extending from a heat shield (92) for adjusting the flow of the nozzle are contacted by the piston in a first closed position. In a second open position, the piston is spaced apart from the vanes, thereby increasing the input nozzle cross-section.
