  • Publication number: 20240154798
Abstract: A method for generating secrets using a vehicle involves a computing unit reading input data and processing the input data to generate at least one secret using rules. At least action data is used as the input data, the action data being generated by the vehicle after carrying out at least one action. The computing unit calculates a unique pseudo-random byte sequence from the action data using the rules. The pseudo-random byte sequence is used as the secret or pseudo-random byte sequence is further processed by a function in order to derive the secret.

  • Patent number: 11951985
Abstract: A method for determining a set speed of an assistance system for controlling a longitudinal movement of a vehicle involves checking a route ahead of the vehicle with a predefined total route length to determine whether, on this total route length, there are areas with a free-flowing traffic state, areas with a slow-moving and/or congested traffic state, and areas with a gridlocked traffic state. A route length of each area is determined. Depending upon these determinations, it is decided whether the set speed is to be defined by the assistance system and to which of multiple predefined speed values the set speed is to be set.

  • Patent number: 11854006
Abstract: A method for paying in a motor vehicle having a transaction device involves providing transaction data relating to the payment to the payment transmitter. The transaction data including a receiver address of a payment receiver, a payment amount, a transmitter address of a payment transmitter located in the motor vehicle, and a private key belonging to the transmitter address. The provided transaction data is entered into the transaction device. The entered receiver address is transmitted to the payment receiver, which authenticates the transmitted receiver address. Only if the authenticated receiver address is classified as authentic does the method proceed. This involves signaling the successful authentication of the receiver address to the payment transmitter and transmitting the entered transaction data entered to the cryptocurrency computer network for carrying out the payment.

  • Patent number: 11840263
Abstract: A method for controlling an automated driving operation of a vehicle involves authorizing the automated driving operation according to a number of predetermined conditions. Traffic information and event information is received by the vehicle. The traffic information contains place- and time-referenced information about a traffic jam on a part of the route lying ahead of the vehicle and the event information contains place- and time-referenced information about an event on the part of the route lying ahead. The traffic information and the event information are evaluated by the vehicle as belonging together if these are close together in terms of place and time. The automated driving operation of the vehicle is not authorized if event information and traffic information is available for a predetermined prediction horizon, but only then if these are evaluated as not belonging together.

  • Patent number: 11718309
Abstract: A method for operating an autonomously driving vehicle that is connected to a central computer unit via a communication connection for exchanging data. During the autonomous driving mode, a request to take over a driving task is emitted to a vehicle user when at least one takeover condition is fulfilled. The takeover condition is fulfilled when it is established that the communication connection to the central computer unit is disrupted on a route portion that exceeds a predetermined length and on which the vehicle is located or which the vehicle is approaching.

  • Publication number: 20220254256
Abstract: A method for the automatic merging of a vehicle from a slip road into a lane of traffic involves determining a primary merging position in advance at which the vehicle is to undertake a lane change from the slip road to the lane of traffic. If the lane change at the primary merging position or as close as possible to it does not lead to road users in the lane of traffic being obstructed, the vehicle is controlled in such a way that the lane change is carried out at the primary merging position. Otherwise, the lane change is carried out at a secondary merging position which is determined depending on detected clearances between road users in the lane of traffic.

  • Publication number: 20220139122
Abstract: A method for monitoring a functionality of a vehicle information system of a motor vehicle, which functionality is requested via an interface from a device external to the vehicle and extends the functional scope of the vehicle information system, and whose at least one functionality property is defined based on a framework condition plan stored in a register is provided. The functionality is requested via the interface, and the functionality is executed by the vehicle information system. An operating state of the functionality of the vehicle information system is detected and compared with the functionality property recorded in the framework condition plan. When there is a deviation of the operating state from the functionality property recorded in the framework condition plan, at least one value characterising the deviation for the register and/or at the interface of the vehicle information system is provided.

  • Patent number: 6587779
Abstract: In a method for monitoring and controlling traffic states in a road traffic system current or predicted traffic states are determined for one or more points and a distinction is made between the three types of traffic states: free-flowing traffic, slow-moving traffic and stationary traffic. Vehicle inflow into the traffic system is then controlled as a function of the detected traffic states. The state monitoring method is configured to detect phase transitions between free-flowing and slow-moving traffic and/or stationary traffic states, which can be detected or predicted by means of specified criteria. Furthermore, according to the invention the vehicle inflow into the monitored traffic system section is controlled as a function of detected phase transitions between free-flowing and slow-moving traffic.

  • Patent number: 6470262
Abstract: A method for determining the traffic situation is based on traffic data which are obtained from reporting vehicles moving in the traffic, for a traffic network with traffic-controlled network nodes and roadway sections connecting them. Traffic data indicative of travel times on the roadway sections are obtained by reporting vehicles moving in the traffic, and are used to determine travel times on a roadway-section-specific basis. The mean number of vehicles in the queue, the mean number of vehicles, the mean vehicle speed outside the queue, the mean waiting time in the queue and/or the mean vehicle density outside the queue are determined from these travel times for the respective roadway section.
