  • Patent number: 5753199
Abstract: Disclosed is a process for producing calcium cyanamide by reacting urea with an oxygen-containing calcium compound in at least two stepsa) in a first step the reaction components are allowed to react under compression and/or while being revolved or by applying them to a hot surface at temperatures of 120.degree. to 500.degree. C. until a solid is formed andb) the solid reaction mixture that is formed is subsequently calcined at temperatures of 600.degree. to 900.degree. C.In this process it is possible to obtain high yields and throughputs of calcium cyanamide without requiring a time-consuming processing of the reaction product after the first or second step.

  • Patent number: 4976979
Abstract: The present invention provides a process for the decaffeination of tea containing 15 to 50% by weight of water with moist carbon dioxide at 255 to 350 bar at 50.degree. to 80.degree. C. in a pressure vessel, subsequent separation of the caffeine from the carbon dioxide with the help of an adsorbent and recycling the caffeine-free carbon dioxide over the already extracted tea, wherein the adsorbent is distributed in the material to be extracted in an amount of from 5 to 40% by weight, referred to the dry weight of the tea.

  • Patent number: 4788286
Abstract: A process for obtaining solid cyanuric chloride from the cyanuric chloride vapor obtained by trimerizing cyanogen chloride whereby the cyanuric chlorid vapor is introduced into the center of many separated cold annularly disposed inert gas streams in the lower part of the condensor and whereby the solid cyanuric chloride that is obtained on the bottom of the condensor is removed, whereas the heated inert gas is removed at the side. The advantages of the process of the present invention are high condensation throughputs, minor problems with sticking as well as good product quality of the obtained cyanuric chloride.

  • Patent number: 4591493
Abstract: The present invention provides a process for obtaining solid cyanuric chloride from a cyanuric chloride vapor obtained by the trimerization of cyanogen chloride, wherein the cyanuric chloride vapor is introduced into the upper part of a separation chamber in the center of many individual cold inert gas streams, the solid cyanuric chloride, after emergence thereof from the separation chamber, is separated from the inert gas stream by the action of centrifugal and gravitational force and the inert gas, together with a residual content of very finely crystalline cyanuric chloride, is returned, after cooling thereof, as part streams to the separation chamber.
