  • Patent number: 9841827
Abstract: A user to machine interface emulates a touch interface on a screen. The interface is configured for operating in a touch emulation mode based on a triggering event. A triggering event may be a rotation around a first axis of an angle higher than a first threshold. Analysis of the amount of rotation around a second axis may be used to determine the number of fingers defining a specific touch gesture. An infinite variety of touch gestures may therefore be emulated by a remote control based on application context thus allowing for multiple uses of the touch screen machine from a distance.

  • Publication number: 20160171377
Abstract: The invention discloses a method, a device and a system to build and/or use models for estimating behaviours of, or situations of interest to users. Said users have a device which is configured to capture at least a first dataset of sensor data in relation to the behaviour or situation. A set of processing capabilities is configured to capture first datasets comprising sensor data and second datasets comprising annotated data in relation to the behaviour or situation and to further configure at least a model. The device is further configured to adjust parameters of the at least a model to the characteristics of the user or of a group of users. The invention allows for an improvement over the prior art by allowing collection of a vast amount of data that will optimize the fit of the models to the behaviour or situation.

  • Patent number: 7948394
Abstract: The invention relates to a control device (1) for controlling the hue (H) of light (L) emitted by a light source (2). The control device comprises a hue selection surface (20) capable of displaying one or more hues available for said light of said light source and interaction detection means (21) for detecting interaction between said hue selection surface and a user of said control device in selecting said hue for said light of said light source. The control device (1) allows the user to select the desired hue for the light source simply by interacting with the hue selection surface that displays the available hues. Consequently, the control device can be operated easily and intuitively.

  • Patent number: 7815305
Abstract: An electronic brush (10) for dispensing ink (22) onto a writable medium (30) employs an electronic-brush housing (12), at least one ink dispenser (20) coupled to the electronic-brush housing, an electronic-brush scanner (14) coupled to the electronic-brush housing, and a controller (16). The controller is in electrical communication with the ink dispenser and the electronic-brush scanner. A position of the electronic brush is determined based on at least one position indicator in a first portion of a dispensed image that is scanned by the electronic-brush scanner and communicated to the controller. An ink-dispense signal is sent from the controller to the ink dispenser based on the determined electronic-brush position.

  • Patent number: 7562985
Abstract: A mirror assembly (18) for displaying an image (15) in conjunction with the reflection (14?) of a viewer comprises a mirror (2), which is equipped with a reflective polariser (13), arranged to reflect light (3) incident on its viewing side and transmit light (4) incident on its non-viewing side, where the reflected light (3) and transmitted light (4) may be of different polarization. The image (15) is displayed by a device (5) located on the non-viewing side and focused by a focusing element, e.g. one or more lenses (12, 12a), onto an image plane. The image plane may be located between the mirror (2) and viewer (14), so that a perceived image (15?) appears to stand out from the mirror (2). Alternatively, the image plane may be located so that the perceived image (15?) forms a background in which the viewer's reflection (14?) is immersed. The mirror assembly (1) may further comprise one or more detectors (19) for obtaining a silhouette (21) of the viewer (14).

  • Publication number: 20080135412
Abstract: The invention provides a system for activating an electronic paint including at least two independently movable ultrasonic transducers (20,22), an electronic brush (30) including an electronic-brush ultrasonic transducer (32), and a controller (40). The controller (40) is operably coupled to the two independently movable ultrasonic transducers (20,22) and the electronic-brush ultrasonic transducer (32). An electronic-brush location with respect to locations of the independently movable ultrasonic transducers (20,22) is determined from ultrasonic signals communicated between the ultrasonic transducers (20,22) and received by the controller (40).
