    Abstract: A data analysis processor receives data collected from switch is and applies a plurality of stored rules to yield corresponding test results. If a test result exceeds stored boundary conditions corresponding to the test, an exception condition is determined to exist and the corresponding record associated with the test is transmitted to a table in the database to generate an exception table. Such preprocessing minimizes computational overhead and time required to generate exception reports.
