    Abstract: An end bell for a motor has a base plate, a bearing and a molded insert to couple the bearing to the base plate. The end bell with molded insert is durable, light weight and has good anti-corrosion properties. The bearing is held in relation to the base plate while the molded insert is disposed. A post-mold machining operation can be used to both size the bearing hole to the motor shaft but also to align the hole in relation to the base plate. Bushings and fasteners for assembly of the end bell to the motor housing and supplemental supports may be pre-attached to the base plate, molded into the molded insert or added in a post-mold operation. Deformations in the end bell may be used to couple the molded insert to the end bell.

    Abstract: A torque-limiting clutch brake is provided that has an inner collar which splines to a transmission gearbox input shaft. An intermediate coupling member fits around and engages the inner collar. A friction generating resilient wave washer is disposed between the intermediate coupling member and an outer housing. The outer housing includes two covers, within which the components are contained and the resilient wave washer is partially compressed. Friction generated by the resilient wave washer conditionally couples the outer housing to the intermediate coupling member and inner collar until torque on the device exceeds a certain threshold, at which point the clutch brake slips to prevent damage. The components are made up of separable semicircular sections which can be split apart to facilitate removal and installation of the clutch brake without lowering and disassembling the vehicle transmission.

    Abstract: A torque-limiting clutch brake having an inner collar which splines to a transmission gearbox input shaft and including a pair of depressions along its outer edge. A torque-limiting intermediate coupling detent member and spacer ring are disposed around the inner collar. Two resilient detents from the coupling member retainingly engage the depressions of the inner collar within a predetermined limit of torque. Two covers, each having a friction facing on their outer surfaces, house the inner collar, coupling member, and spacer ring, and positively engage the coupling member. An assembly clamp ring fits around the two housing covers and secures the assembly together. The inner collar, coupling member, spacer ring, housing covers, and assembly clamp ring each are made up of two separable semi-circular sections to facilitate removal and installation of the clutch brake without lowering and disassembling the vehicle transmission.

    Abstract: Apparatus for accurately bonding leads to a semi-conductor die or the like includes a hitch feed and guide assembly for sequentially positioning each set of leads on a film carrier format over the die to be bonded to the leads. A micromanipulator adjusts the leads relative to the die prior to bonding. Displacement means provide unambiguous rectilinear separate movement of the bonding tool laterally into alignment with the lead and semi-conductor and then into contact with the leads to apply bonding heat and pressure.

    Abstract: Bonding apparatus bonds inner leads on a film carrier to outer leads. Outer lead frame stock and the film carrier bearing the inner leads and dies are fed to the bonding site. A set of inner leads and the die thereto bonded is punched from the film carrier and moved to the bonding position in a manner such that the inner leads are aligned with the outer leads. A bonding tool effects the bond. Thereafter, the next set of outer leads and inner leads and die are advanced to the bonding site.
