    Abstract: Disclosed is a printing medium useful for inkjet printing and provides opacity for either with or without back light applications. A printing medium made in accordance with the present invention includes a substrate, a first coating layer disposed on the substrate, and a second coating layer disposed on the first coating layer. The second coating layer has a microporous structure and comprises at least one hydrophobic polymer and at least one liquid absorbing filler dispersed substantially throughout the at least one hydrophobic polymer.
