  • Publication number: 20210006076
Abstract: Systems and methods are disclosed that are related to a set of reconfigurable energy storage modules that can be assisted by an algorithm used to create larger energy storage systems in a flexible and efficient manner. The modules can interconnect in series, parallel or series/parallel and achieve balancing of the energy in every module while providing terminal voltage and/or current control and regulation. The modules can reconfigure on-the-fly and behave as a regular battery, a by-passing unit with a very low resistance, or a module capable of bucking or boosting voltage.

  • Patent number: 10207055
Abstract: An exemplary embodiment of the invention is a nozzle, for use in an injection device, that projects material at an ultra-high velocity. The nozzle includes an integrally formed body having an interior passageway that has a longitudinal axis. The input of the nozzle is configured to interface with a cartridge, and the output is configured to be placed proximate to a target. The passageway includes a taper, and its path length, from an initial diameter to a position along the passageway where the passageway first reaches a smallest diameter, is at least 0.5 mm. The taper of the passageway defines a shape, in a plane that includes the longitudinal axis, that is a continuous and monotonically decreasing function of distance along the longitudinal axis in a direction of flow through the nozzle.

  • Publication number: 20140352029
Abstract: A simulated necktie knot device is provided that secures two portions of a necktie together and provides an outward appearance of a necktie knot. The device comprises a frustoconical construction with an upper end, a lower end, and tapering sides. Along the upper end of the device is an upwardly extending securement flap configured to extend over the upper portion of the device and attach along the backside portion thereof via a fastener. The flap provides a means to pinch the portions of the necktie together within the device interior and reduce the upper end open area, thereby preventing sliding of the device therealong. The flap further simulates a portion of the necktie within along the upper portion of the knot. The material of the knot device is one that can be configured to mimic the necktie material or contrast therewith, depending on the style of the wearer.

  • Patent number: 8550927
Abstract: Disclosed is an apparatus for a rocker. In one embodiment, the rocker may be comprised of a fixed support structure; a resonant pendulum suspended from the fixed support structure, a seat or bed suspended on the pendulum; and a coil coupled to the pendulum and interacting with a magnetic field to supply force to the pendulum to maintain movement of the seat or bed. The rocker may also be comprised of a rechargeable battery that is used to power the coil and allow for the rocker to run continuously. The battery may be charged by the coil's interactions with the magnetic field or using at least one solar panel. The solar panel may also be used without a battery to provide energy to the rocker so that it may run continuously. The coil may be comprised of an electrically conducting wire (e.g., copper or aluminum wire).
