Abstract: A panel assembly for a display device and a display device having the panel assembly are provided. The panel assembly for a display device includes a display region including a plurality of pixels and most of display signal lines connected to the pixels, a plurality of repair lines disposed in a shape of a ring in a peripheral region outside of the display region, and first to third auxiliary repair lines disposed in the peripheral region in parallel to data lines. An additional auxiliary repair line is provided at a right side of each of the data driving IC regions. By doing so, occurrence of disconnection and success in repairing the disconnected data lines of a display penal which is mounted in a COG scheme is tested by using a TCP type of test unit, so that it is possible to greatly reduce production costs involved in the COG type test unit.

A color filter array panel opposite a TFT LCD panel substrate includes a medium dam layer which fully overlaps the bridge lines of the TFT LCD panel substrate. A data TFT for inspection having a source electrode coupled to the signal line, a drain electrode coupled to any one of the shorting bars, and a gate electrode coupled to a data TFT driving signal line ensures the normal operation of the display panel after the array test.

Abstract: A liquid crystal display that is less vulnerable to signal line corrosion due to infiltration of moisture is presented. The display includes: a first display panel and a second display panel facing each other; a sealant disposed between the first display panel and the second display panel to define a sealant region and couple the first display panel and the second display panel to each other; a blocking member disposed between the first display panel and the second display panel and neighboring the sealant; and a liquid crystal interposed between the first display panel and the second display panel, and disposed in the sealant region. The blocking member includes silicone formed from a silane derivative having at least one butyrate.
