  • Publication number: 20230157906
Abstract: The present disclosure presents a stain reduction improvement of a disposable absorbent article by applying a hydrophobic barrier formulation to a topsheet and/or absorbent core area of the article and thereafter embossing the treated area with heat and pressure. A barrier is thus created wherein the barrier is along the full length of the embossment.

  • Patent number: 11602464
Abstract: An absorbent article which can have an improved vertical absorption capability in the depth direction of the absorbent article. The absorbent article can have a topsheet layer, a backsheet layer, and an absorbent system positioned between the topsheet layer and the backsheet layer. The absorbent system can have at least a fluid intake layer and an absorbent core. The fluid intake layer can provide the absorbent article with a raised portion which can improve the vertical absorption capability in the depth direction of the absorbent article.

  • Publication number: 20190274894
Abstract: A self-supporting absorbent article system can have an absorbent article and a support frame. The support frame is capable of supporting the absorbent article in a position adjacent to the body of the wearer of the absorbent article without the need for either 1) the absorbent article to be placed into the wearer's undergarment for support or 2) utilization of any other waistband, straps, or adhesive to maintain the support frame in position on the wearer's body.

  • Patent number: 10279071
Abstract: An odor control layer for personal care products has a composition that has a PEG or PEG copolymer composition applied thereto. The layer can be placed in a personal care product, such as a diaper, training pant, absorbent under pant, adult incontinence product, or feminine hygiene product. Additional odor control layers may include silver nanoparticles and activated carbon compositions. In an alternative form, a single odor control layer includes the PEG composition and the activated carbon and/or silver nanoparticle compositions. A cleansing composition with PEG and possibly active carbon and silver nanoparticles may be combined with the personal care product to form a kit.

  • Publication number: 20180110895
Abstract: The present disclosure is directed to an absorbent article including a closed cell foam matrix for delivering oxygen. The absorbent article includes a liquid permeable inner surface for facing the wearer, an outer surface for facing away from the wearer, an absorbent assembly disposed therebetween, and a closed-cell foam matrix material applied to a portion of the absorbent article. The closed cell foam matrix contains a superabsorbent material and oxygen entrapped within the superabsorbent material. To produce the closed cell foam matrix for delivering oxygen, an alkali hydroxide catalyst and oxygen precursor are both added to an aqueous superabsorbent material. The aqueous solution is applied to a nonwoven material. The nonwoven material is then heated to produce oxygen by reacting the alkali hydroxide catalyst and the oxygen precursor thereby entrapping the oxygen in the formed closed cell foam matrix.
