Abstract: Disclosed is a multi-pocket paper money counting apparatus having functions capable of easily discriminating different denomination notes, and automatically performing sequential steps of counting paper money and binding a wad of paper money to thereby obtain a rapid business processing time by eliminating a need of using an additional binding operation and improve functionality thereof. The multi-pocket paper money counting apparatus includes: a counting device for counting paper money; a transporting guide unit disposed inside of the counting device; a paper money transporting unit disposed on a transporting path for transporting paper money; a sensor unit for defecting paper money; a path changing device disposed on the transporting path for allowing paper money to be selectively transported into a first path or a second path; a central control device for controlling the associated components; and multi pockets each formed on outside of the counting device.
