  • Patent number: 5619870
Abstract: The invention relates to a pulsator with an improved structure and more particularly to a pulsator having punching function used in the washing machine. The pulsator of the present invention is composed of such improved structure that a rotating member has a guiding dimple formed on the its upper end surface, and an elevating member has a guiding protrusion projected from the inner surface. According to such pulsator, non-symmetrical water flow and up-and-down water flow can be generated easily so that the entanglement of the washing articles can be minimized, and the washing is carried out effectively.

  • Patent number: 5565651
Abstract: A compactable composite explosive consisting of 90 weight % to 95 weight % of a raw explosive material being RDX, 5 weight % to 10 weight % of ethylene vinyl acetate copolymer resin containing vinyl acetate in a content of 10 % to 20 % and 0 weight % to 0.5 weight % of dioctyl adipate (D.O.A.) or graphite. This composite explosive is usable as a main charge or a booster of a highly precise arms system. The invention also provides a method for producing a compactable composite explosive, which comprises the steps of dissolving a binder of ethylene vinyl acetate copolymer resin in a solvent of toluene to prepare a solution, injecting the solution into RDX dispersed in a water, forming a granular product from the obtained mixture, distilling primarily the product, *adding toluene into the product, and distilling secondarily the product. The amount of added toluene is 1.0 time to 3.0 times the amount of the binder measured after the primary distillation.

  • Patent number: 5530623
Abstract: A memory packaging scheme for high speed computer systems includes, several memory module sockets mounted to a printed circuit board and interconnected by a common set of address, data and control transmission lines within the printed circuit board. The transmission lines are interrupted at each connector. Cooperating memory modules, such as SIMM memory modules are installed in sequence into one or more of the module sockets in accordance with the requirements of the computer system. Installation of a memory module into a memory socket closes the open circuits for each one of the transmission lines at the memory socket, extending the uninterrupted length of the transmission lines to the next memory socket in the sequence.

  • Patent number: 5503750
Abstract: A substantially continuous membrane separation process has been discovered in which the known benefits of a cell-recycle fermentor are unexpectedly enhanced because pH is controlled from 4.0 to 5.5 with a nitrogen-containing base. The ammonium lactate formed is not precipitated, allowing continuous removal of lactic acid so as to maintain a concentration of lactic acid about 12% by wt in the broth. When combined with recycle of UF retentate, operating this cell-recycle fermentor allows the build-up of a cell population in the range from above 5.times.10.sup.9 CFU/ml to 5.times.10.sup.10 CFU/ml, which population is much denser than one which can be produced with the specified pH control in a batch fermentor, after self-termination of the fermentation. This super-dense population of cells, In turn, not only accelerates production of lactic acid but also minimizes contamination by foreign cells.

  • Patent number: 5419163
Abstract: A method of and an apparatus for controlling a washer capable of reducing errors of information required to control the washer to precisely control the washer and preventing a malfunction of the washer to improve a reliance of the washer, by analyzing various and complex data, deriving a correlation coefficient of the data according to the result of the analysis, and determining information required to control the washer, based on the correlation coefficient. The control apparatus includes a sensing unit having sensors for outputting data about various operation conditions of the washer such as a water level, a clothes quality and the kind of a detergent, a clothes amount, and a polluted degree of a washing water. A correlation coefficient operating unit is connected to the sensing unit. The correlation coefficient operating unit serves to analyze the data outputted from the sensors so as to operate correlation coefficients of the data.

  • Patent number: 4892846
Abstract: A fibre-reinforced ceramic material is made by making a melt of glass of specified composition, cooling the melt rapidly enough for it to solidify as a glass, crushing the glass to a particle size not exceeding 70 .mu.m but preferably not exceeding 50 .mu.m mixing the powder with reinforcing fibres and heat-treating the mixture, preferably under pressure. The glass composition is: 100 parts by weight of base glass (0-30 CaO, 0-30 MgO, 5-35 Al.sub.2 O.sub.3, and 35-75 SiO.sub.2) plus 1/2-3 parts Cr.sub.2 O.sub.3 plus 1/2-10 parts of Fe.sub.2 O.sub.3 or the equivalent. This ensures the ceramic contains both surface-nucleated and internally-nucleated crystals, enhancing its properties.

  • Patent number: 4866308
Abstract: A high speed, high performance CMOS to GPI interface circuit is disclosed. The interface circuit contains an input stage, clamping circuitry, an output stage and feedback circuitry. The clamping circuitry clamps the voltage level presented to the output stage at a level below the power supply voltage when the input from the CMOS circuit is at a high logic level. As the voltage level of the signal presented to the CPI circuitry rises, feedback circuitry feeds this signal back to the clamping circuitry, which in turn decreases the voltage level presented to the output stage. This assures the signal presented to the GPI circuit falls within the specified voltage level from 1.51 and 2.2 volts. The feedback circuitry contains a single pole filter that filters out high frequency reflections presented to the feedback circuitry, and a slew rate limiter that slows the rise and fall of the voltage level presented to the output stage thereby reducing noise on the power supply and ground lines.

  • Patent number: 4601278
Abstract: A bullet is fired from an ammunition cartridge upon piercing a breakaway section in the rear wall of the cartridge to form a gas escape port. The cartridge has one open end in which is seated the bullet and the breakaway section of the rear wall is directly opposite the bullet. A moveable sealing element is adapted to move between two positions. One position seals off the opening in the one end, and the other position is displaced from the opening to allow gas to escape under pressure from the opening. Piston-type element, in response to the housing wall being pierced, stops the flow of gas from this escape port and moves the sealing element from the first to the second position.
