Publication number: 20230251660Abstract: A self-propelled device can include at least a wireless interface, a housing, a propulsion mechanism, and a camera. Using the camera, the self-propelled device can generate a video feed and transmit the video feed to a controller device via the wireless interface. The self-propelled device can receive an input from the controller device indicating an object or location in the video feed. In response to the input, the self-propelled device can initiate an autonomous mode to autonomously operate the propulsion mechanism to propel the self-propelled device towards the object or location indicated in the video feed.Type: ApplicationFiled: April 17, 2023Publication date: August 10, 2023Applicant: Sphero, Inc.Inventors: Paul Berberian, Ian Bernstein, Adam Wilson, Kevin Hemmings, Ross MacGregor

Publication number: 20190262990Abstract: Aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to robot skill management. In certain aspects, a robot may be capable of performing a set of skills. Accordingly, the robot may implement aspects of robot skill management to determine a skill to execute without requiring user input prior to executing the skill. In an example, a skill relevancy metric may be determined for a skill, which may be determined based on context information for the robot. Further, the robot may maintain metadata for the skill relating to previous instances in which the skill was executed. As a result, the robot may generate a skill importance metric based at least in part on the skill relevancy metric and/or the skill metadata. Skill importance metrics for the set of skills may then be used to determine a skill from the set. The determined skill may then be executed by the robot.Type: ApplicationFiled: February 28, 2018Publication date: August 29, 2019Applicant: MISTY ROBOTICS, INC.Inventors: Daniel H. Grollman, Ian Bernstein

Publication number: 20180089699Abstract: Aspects of the present disclosure relate to systems and method for providing a managed user experience for consumer products. A base station may detect a tag associated with a consumer product, which may be used to retrieve a managed user experience cached locally, or stored at a remote device associated with an experience provider. The managed user experience may include gameplay, content, and/or instructions to perform specified functionality. In an example, content and/or instructions may be transmitted to the consumer product and/or one or more intermediary devices in order to generate the managed user experience. In some examples, information may be received from the consumer product by way of the tag and used to provide the managed user experience. In other examples, the tag may be retrieve and/or provide aspects of a managed user experience from an experience provider without use of the base station or intermediary device.Type: ApplicationFiled: September 22, 2017Publication date: March 29, 2018Inventors: Damon Arniotes, Ian Bernstein, David Hygh, Jonathan Carroll, Kevin Menzie, Anya Grechka, Isaac Squires
