  • Patent number: 5981024
Abstract: A mineral fiber plate product is produced by producing a first non-woven mineral fiber web containing mineral fibers predominantly arranged in a first longitudinal direction and segments of the first mineral fiber web are arranged in a partly mutually overlapping relationship for producing a second non-woven mineral fiber web, which contains mineral fibers generally transversally relative to one another. The second mineral fiber web is folded transversely for producing a third non-woven mineral fiber web. The third non-woven mineral fiber web is cured for producing a cured non-woven mineral fiber web from which a mineral fiber plate, or alternatively, a tubular insulating element is cut. In packaging, the volume of the mineral fiber plate may be reduced to 40%-60%.

  • Patent number: 5851330
Abstract: A method of insulating a pipe is described wherein a tubular sheathing comprising a radially slitted, tubular member of bonded mineral fibers oriented essentially in planes perpendicular to the longitudinal axis of the tubular member, and a sheet material, which by gluing is attached to the outer side of the tubular member, is mounted so as to envelop the pipe. The method being characterized in that the tubular sheathing, prior to being mounted on the pipe, is alternatingly compressed and stretched in the axial direction in a zone in which the tubular sheathing is to insulate a bend on the pipe.

  • Patent number: 5690147
Abstract: A heat-insulating assembly (10) for insulating a surface of a tubular body (30) relative to the ambient air comprises a length of an annular heat-insulating body (12, 14) defining an inner cylindrical surface (17) and an outer cylindrical surface (16). A vapor-barrier layer is applied to and covers the outer cylindrical surface of the annular heat-insulating body. A through-going slit (11, 15) extends through the annular heat-insulating body (12, 14) in the entire length thereof for allowing the annular heat-insulating body (12-14) to be opened for positioning the annular heat-insulating body (10) circumferentially encircling the tubular body (30) so as to position the inner cylindrical surface (17) juxtaposed the surface of the tubular body (30).

  • Patent number: 5520009
Abstract: For removing water condensed on the outer surface of a tube (10) which is insulated by means of an insultating assembly (12), a plug (30) is arranged extending through the insulating assembly. The plug comprises a conduit component (32) in which a capillary suction material (36) is enclosed. The material (36) communicates with an evaporator foil (38) circumferentially encircling the outer cylindrical surface of the insulating assembly (12). The capillary suction material (36) may be substituted by a foil of a capillary suction material or a hygroscopic paint.
