  • Patent number: 11467042
Abstract: A device for indicating violation of a temperature limit of an item is provided. The device is positionable near the item and includes a sensor configured to change its state permanently when the temperature limit is violated. The change in sensor state is machine-readable to provide a permanent indication of the temperature limit violation. The sensor includes a reservoir for storing a fluid that changes phase from a solid to a liquid when the temperature limit is violated and a channel in fluid communication with the reservoir for receiving flow of the fluid in liquid phase from the reservoir. The sensor is arranged to allow flow of the fluid in the liquid phase such that the state of the sensor is permanently changed. The sensor is further configured to prevent the fluid flow from permanently changing the sensor state until activation of the sensor from a resting state. A system and method for detecting violation of a temperature limit of an item using the device is also provided.

  • Patent number: 10657657
Abstract: A method of detecting a change in angular position of a camera. A plurality of frames captured by the camera is received, each frame being associated with brightness and acceleration metadata. The brightness metadata is associated with a frame being representative of brightness of a scene captured by the frame. A contiguous set of candidate panning motion frames is selected from the plurality of frames, based on similarity of acceleration characteristics, to determine a change of brightness metadata in the selected contiguous set of frames. An angular movement score is determined for the selected contiguous set of frames using the change of brightness metadata. A change in the angular position of the camera is detected based on the angular movement score to adjust a manner in which the plurality of frames is displayed by a display device coupled with the camera.

  • Patent number: 9939378
Abstract: A system and method for the detection of bacteria on a sample, utilizes spectroscopic analysis of the sample and the fluorescent properties of bacteria or other substance(s) or matter associated with the bacteria to identify the presence of bacteria on the sample. A detector analyses light emitted from the sample in response to illumination. The detector 5 is arranged to analyze the emission spectra across two wavebands, a first waveband containing the wavelengths associated with the fluorescent properties of the bacterial species or other substance or matter to be detected, and a second waveband excluding these wavelengths but also having an overlapping region with the first waveband.
