Patent number: 11918475Abstract: An orthopaedic prosthetic system includes a plate having one or more flanges and an acetabular shell component. Each flange includes a surface configured to engage a patient's bone. The plate also includes a central ring that engages a lip extending from an outer surface of the shell component. The ring may be mechanically attached to the lip using multiple fasteners. The system may include multiple plates each having a different configuration from other plates, and may also include multiple shell components each having a different configuration from other shell components. Methods for assembling and using the prosthetic system are also disclosed.Type: GrantFiled: March 31, 2021Date of Patent: March 5, 2024Assignee: DEPUY SYNTHES PRODUCTS, INC.Inventors: Paul P. Lewis, Ian J. Flatters

Patent number: 11909881Abstract: A system and method (referred to as a system) processes a vehicle title interfaced to an issuance authority by authenticating a user and mapping the user's credentials. The system executes registration and titling activities over a network with an issuance authority in response to the authentication of a token. The system retrieves a user membership private key from a private key vault and instantiates smart contracts that commit a transaction associated with a registration of a physical asset with the issuance authority. The system signs the smart contracts with a cryptographic private key not assigned to the user membership in response to establishing a proof of claim to the physical asset and invokes a service discovery that identifies availability of on-line certificate attesting peer nodes to attest the transaction. The system instantiates of the smart contracts on a title issuance authority blockchain network hosted by the issuance authority or provisioned to them in a managed services deployment.Type: GrantFiled: December 3, 2021Date of Patent: February 20, 2024Assignee: Champ Titles, Inc.Inventors: Bernardo Moreno, Shane M. Bigelow, Bo J. Shim, Scott W. Barrett, Ian P. Lewis, Daniel F. Crough, Jr., Dante Giancola

Patent number: 8036722Abstract: A mobile communication device having a first housing and a second housing proximally coupled to the first housing. The first housing and the second housing can be, for example, rotationally or translationally coupled. A clamshell form factor and a rotator form factor are rotationally coupled. In another example, a slider phone form factor is translationally coupled. In these examples, the devices are configured to have an open position and configured to have a closed position. A speakerphone microphone is located in the first housing. A speakerphone speaker is located in the second housing wherein the speakerphone microphone is substantially distal the speakerphone speaker.Type: GrantFiled: November 2, 2006Date of Patent: October 11, 2011Assignee: Motorola Mobility, Inc.Inventors: Giles T. Davis, Ian P. Lewis

Publication number: 20080161064Abstract: Disclosed are methods and devices for adapting a ringtone in accordance with ambient noise. In one embodiment a method includes processing an ambient noise signal to determine an ambient noise volume. When there is an incoming communication and it is determined that the ambient noise has a low ambient noise volume, a method can include generating a ringtone having a ringtone volume that is initially a low volume and increasing the ringtone volume over a predetermined period of time. A method can include applying a filter to the ringtone signal to increase a signal-to-noise ratio, the filter configured to increase an amplitude of a frequency that is not one of the predominant frequencies of the ambient noise and that the transducer is configured to output according to the transducer frequency response. In another embodiment, a second transducer may generate a ringtone output in addition to the first transducer.Type: ApplicationFiled: December 29, 2006Publication date: July 3, 2008Applicant: MOTOROLA, INC.Inventors: IAN P. LEWIS, GILES T. DAVIS, SHAOHAI CHEN, SCOTT K. ISABELLE
