  • Publication number: 20100205028
Abstract: A data processing system comprises a database located on a web site and a plurality of independent generators of raw data signals each associated with a user known to the owner of the web site and each able to be connected to the web site, such as through an internet service provide. The data signals are processed at the database, by means of an analysis engine in accordance with parameters chosen by or specific to each user or group of users, to produce processed data that are stored on a server associated with the database and which are selectively accessible to individual users on conditions prearranged with the owner of the database. The data processing system is particularly one in which the owner of some data-processing software sells licenses to firms or individuals who wish to use that software to analyze results of data-generating equipment sold to them by said owner.

  • Patent number: 5086233
Abstract: A luminometer comprises a body which is formed with a bore for receiving a sample container and a cavity communicating with the lower end of the bore. A control device having a part-circumferential ramp is rotatable within the cavity for displacing the sample container along the bore to and from a test position in which the sample container is exposed to a photo-multiplier device. The control device is rotated by a cap which is coupled to the control device and which covers the upper end of the bore in light-tight manner as the control device lowers the sample container to the test position.

  • Patent number: 5043141
Abstract: An injection system for use with a luminometer, which includes a carrier movable between a liquid loading station and a liquid dispensing station and a dispenser assembly mounted on the carrier and including an injector needle arranged, when at the liquid loading station, to pass through an aperture in a part of the luminometer aligned with a test sample container therein, the container being in a test chamber with which a photomultiplier device communicates. The system also includes a sealing arrangement which prevents light from passing through the aperture in the luminometer, both when the needle extends through the aperture and when the needle has been withdrawn from the aperture.

  • Patent number: 4755055
Abstract: A luminometer construction including means for supplying samples contained in respective cuvettes 20, in succession to be examined, the cuvettes being introduced into a carrier 10 having a cuvette gripper 19, the carrier 10 defining an examination chamber 21 into which the cuvettes are inserted, the carrier 10 being rotatable between a loading and a test position in which the examination chamber 21 is adjacent to a photo-multiplier device 25, whereby testing of a sample in a curvette 20 can be carried out, the examination chamber 21 having an edge in a plane inclined to the axis 11 of rotation of the carrier 10, and the photo-multiplier device 25 being arranged with its optical axis 26 perpendicular to such plane.
