The second retainer ring includes a plurality of ribs extending from a ring body such that the plurality of ribs create a gap between the ring body and the second screen. Further, the valve includes a valve plug configured to selectively engage the valve seat to open and close a passage between the interior chamber and the outlet. The seat fitting is contained at least partially within the outlet fitting to define the outlet of the housing.

    Abstract: A regulator valve has an anti-seize feature when in the hard stop position. The valve is providing with a biasing force away from the hard stop position when in the hard stop position sufficient to prevent seizure of the drive screw in the hard stop position. This biasing force may be provided by a resilient member and/or a plastic, instead of a metal, adjusting screw which may provide sufficient resiliency to prevent seizing in the hard stop position. A resilient member could be a washer such as a spring washer, a wave washer, or even a compressible flat.

Once a radio link has been set up, initial transmissions carry a synchronisation logical channel S and a signalling logical channel D multiplexed together, but the link may switch to bursts carrying a communications logical channel B for the speech data and the signalling logical channel D. Burst synchronisation is achieved by the asynchronous detection of words in a synchronisation channel S. These words have bit patterns reducing the probability of incorrect asynchronous detection of them. If one part ceases to receive handset signals from the other, it transmits a special signal, informing the other part. This enables both parts to detect the failure of a link at substantially the same time, so that their actions to re-establish the link are synchronised.

    Abstract: A corrosive liquid such as sulphuric acid is concentrated by boiling in an evaporator vessel having a thermosyphon loop connected to the bottom of the vessel. Electrodes of carbon which is essentially free of any organic binders are located in one leg of the thermosyphon loop to heat the liquid by current conducted through the liquid. The electrodes are located well below the liquid surface so that boiling occurs only above the electrode level, reducing erosion of the electrodes. The electrodes are blanketed with air which flows through the porous carbon into the liquid, thereby protecting the seals and electrode connections and also introducing air into the thermosyphon loop to promote circulation of the liquid in the loop.
