Publication number: 20240102566Abstract: A regulating valve having anti-seize characteristics provides a linear drive system intermediate a drive shaft connected to a motor and a lifter connected to the regulator spring. The linear drive system translates the rotational motion of the drive shaft into preferably, linear only motion of the lifter, thereby preventing binding internal to the valve.Type: ApplicationFiled: September 21, 2023Publication date: March 28, 2024Inventors: Ian Rodgers, Moises Contreras Hernandez

Patent number: 11421789Abstract: Embodiments of a valve having a housing including an inlet, an outlet, and an interior chamber in fluid communication with the inlet and the outlet are disclosed. The valve also includes a seat fitting having a first screen held in place by a first retainer ring. The seat fitting includes a valve seat. The valve further includes an outlet fitting having a second screen held in place by a second retainer ring. The second retainer ring includes a plurality of ribs extending from a ring body such that the plurality of ribs create a gap between the ring body and the second screen. Further, the valve includes a valve plug configured to selectively engage the valve seat to open and close a passage between the interior chamber and the outlet. The seat fitting is contained at least partially within the outlet fitting to define the outlet of the housing.Type: GrantFiled: December 5, 2019Date of Patent: August 23, 2022Assignee: Robertshaw Controls CompanyInventors: Ian Rodgers, Tony Leeseberg, James E. Patent number: 11408516Abstract: A regulator valve has an anti-seize feature when in the hard stop position. The valve is providing with a biasing force away from the hard stop position when in the hard stop position sufficient to prevent seizure of the drive screw in the hard stop position. This biasing force may be provided by a resilient member and/or a plastic, instead of a metal, adjusting screw which may provide sufficient resiliency to prevent seizing in the hard stop position. A resilient member could be a washer such as a spring washer, a wave washer, or even a compressible flat.Type: GrantFiled: May 25, 2021Date of Patent: August 9, 2022Assignee: Robertshaw Controls CompanyInventors: Ian Rodgers, Brandon Cole, Moises Contreras

Patent number: 11397026Abstract: A burner system for gas-fired furnaces that includes a burner box having one or more burner heads. The burner box is linked to one or more heat exchanger tubes. A flame suppression tube extends from each of the one or more burner heads. The flame suppression tube extends in the direction of one of the one or more heat exchanger tubes. A space separates the flame suppression tube from the heat exchanger tube. A blower is configured to provide a mixture of flammable gas and air to the burner box. An air delivery means provides air in the space separating the flame suppression tube from the heat exchanger tube.Type: GrantFiled: October 29, 2019Date of Patent: July 26, 2022Assignee: Robertshaw Controls CompanyInventor: Ian Rodgers

Patent number: 7987843Abstract: A burner for use with cooking has a multiplicity of slots extending relative to a periphery of a burner head providing primary flame orifices. The slots have slot walls preferably extending upwardly from a slot bottom. A cap tops the burner head. Stops are disposed in the slots so that a smaller cross section is created internal to the slot than at an outlet of the stop to reduce a possibility of flame lifting under high port loading and/or high turn down ratio conditions.Type: GrantFiled: July 25, 2008Date of Patent: August 2, 2011Assignee: Burner Systems International, Inc.Inventor: Ian Rodgers

Patent number: 7490628Abstract: A semi-flexible tube is captured between a valve body and a connection device wherein at least one of the valve body and the connection device is connected structurally to a range instead of relying on the manifold tube as the location mechanism for precisely locating the valve at a desired location on the range.Type: GrantFiled: August 30, 2006Date of Patent: February 17, 2009Assignee: Burner Systems International, Inc.Inventors: Timothy Lee Frost, Ian Rodgers, Daryl Williams, Richard Cowan

Publication number: 20070099926Abstract: The present inventions is directed to a novel DMARD sparing method for treating chronic inflammatory diseases or conditions, such as rheumatoid arthritis, comprising the short-term administration of a disease modifying anti-rheumatic drug (DMARD) followed by reduction of the DMARD and co-administration of a cyclooxygenase-2 selective inhibitor or cessation of the DMARD and continued maintenance therapy using a COX-2 selective inhibitor alone. The present invention provides for an effective DMARD sparing therapy in patients suffering from inflammatory diseases or conditions.Type: ApplicationFiled: June 28, 2004Publication date: May 3, 2007Inventors: Ian Rodger, Sidney Mazel

Patent number: 5416779Abstract: A communication procedure suitable for a cordless telephone system involves time division duplex radio communication between a handset 11 and a base station 3 using alternating bursts of transmission over a single radio channel. Once a radio link has been set up, initial transmissions carry a synchronisation logical channel S and a signalling logical channel D multiplexed together, but the link may switch to bursts carrying a communications logical channel B for the speech data and the signalling logical channel D. Burst synchronisation is achieved by the asynchronous detection of words in a synchronisation channel S. These words have bit patterns reducing the probability of incorrect asynchronous detection of them. If one part ceases to receive handset signals from the other, it transmits a special signal, informing the other part. This enables both parts to detect the failure of a link at substantially the same time, so that their actions to re-establish the link are synchronised.Type: GrantFiled: July 13, 1994Date of Patent: May 16, 1995Assignees: British Telecommunications Public Limited Company, Kenwood Corporation, GPT Limited, Orbitel Mobile Communications Limited, AT&T Wireless Communications Products Limited, Northern Telecom LimitedInventors: Nigel E. Patent number: 4284469Abstract: A corrosive liquid such as sulphuric acid is concentrated by boiling in an evaporator vessel having a thermosyphon loop connected to the bottom of the vessel. Electrodes of carbon which is essentially free of any organic binders are located in one leg of the thermosyphon loop to heat the liquid by current conducted through the liquid. The electrodes are located well below the liquid surface so that boiling occurs only above the electrode level, reducing erosion of the electrodes. The electrodes are blanketed with air which flows through the porous carbon into the liquid, thereby protecting the seals and electrode connections and also introducing air into the thermosyphon loop to promote circulation of the liquid in the loop.Type: GrantFiled: February 11, 1980Date of Patent: August 18, 1981Assignee: Chemetics InternationalInventors: Michio Ikura, Frederick W.
