  • Publication number: 20060210044
Abstract: Described a conference call method and system that automatically and securely establishes a conference call without requiring participants to call in to a telephone company. The method and system include a security device to ensure that each of the parties called by the service provider is authorized to be one of the participants of the conference call. In particular, each participant is provided with a security identifier such as a personal identification number (PIN), password, voice identification (“PASSKEY”), or other identifier. The security identifier can be uniquely assigned to one participant or all of the participants can share the same identifier. To establish a conference call, a telephone service provider simultaneously calls each of the participants at the scheduled time of the conference call. Each participant provides the security identifier to the service provider and is connected into the conference call after authentication of the security identifier.

  • Patent number: 7068772
Abstract: A system and associated method receive, from a local telecommunications network, a call from a first number, to a second number associated with an individual or subscriber. The system and method locally store at least the second number, and initiate a dial-up call to a central telecommunication server or a dialed-up network via the local telecommunications network. The system and method then transfer at least the second number to the central telecommunications server via the dial-up call over the dial-up network. The dial-up network can be a 1-800 network, long distance network, or other network.

  • Publication number: 20050117733
Abstract: A system and method is described for managing communications, including telephone calls, to a user. In one embodiment, the user configures a telephone services provider system (TSPS) to handle incoming calls based upon information stored in a contact management software database. The user may provide a handling code in part of an unused data field in the standard contact management software database. The TSPS interfaces with the contact management software using open application programming interfaces (APIs). The user views and manages communications, including incoming calls, caller contact information, and call histories from a user interface. In one embodiment, the user interface is the standard contact management software interface.
