  • Patent number: 8661675
Abstract: In supplying flux to a brazing heat exchanger member, a given amount of the flux is stably adhered to brazing portions without interposing any substance which becomes unnecessary for the brazing such as binder. In manufacturing a heat exchanger member, particles containing flux are injected to a surface of a substrate made of aluminum or its alloy at a temperature lower than a melting point of the flux by 30° C. or more to collide against the surface at an average speed of 100 m/sec or higher to thereby mechanically adhere the particles thereto.

  • Publication number: 20090200002
Abstract: A production method of a heat exchanger member to be brazed includes spraying particulate powder of metal less noble in corrosion potential than Al, an alloy of the metal, or a composition of the metal, at 150° C. or less at high speed onto a surface of a substrate of aluminum or its alloy to thereby make the particulate powder adhere to the surface. The metal is diffused in the surface layer portion of the substrate by the brazing heating to form a sacrificial corrosive layer.

  • Publication number: 20040182542
Abstract: The invention relates to heat sinks made of finned aluminum extrudates and useful for electronic devices and information devices having an electronic device incorporated therein. The heat sink of the invention made of a finned aluminum extrudate comprises a base plate, and fins arranged in parallel and provided on one surface thereof. The base plate is 25 to 400 mm in width, 25 to 400 mm in length and 2 to 5 mm in thickness, and the fins are 1 to 30 mm in height, 1 to 1.9 mm in interval and 0.1 to 0.8 mm in thickness. The thickness of the fins is reduced within a predetermined range according to the invention to thereby ensure diminished resistance to the flow of air and improved radiation performance. This also renders the heat sink lightweight, serving to reduce the size and weight of electronic devices and information devices.

  • Patent number: 5979742
Abstract: In a friction agitation joining method for joining metallic joining members, a joining device having a column-shaped rotor of a larger diameter and a pin-shaped probe of a smaller diameter integrally formed on an end of the rotor and protruded along an axis of the rotor is used for joining the metallic joining members. The probe is rotated and inserted into or around a butted portion of the joining members to soften a contact portion contacted by the probe by friction heat and to agitate the contact portion so that the joining members are butt joined. Each joining member has a thick portion at a butting side thereof The rotating rotor is contacted to the thick portions under pressure to soften the thick portions by friction heat so that a gap formed at the butted portion is filled with the materials of the softened thick portions.
